Job summary

PKT LOGISTICS (M) SDN. BHD. is seeking a proactive Safety Officer (Green Book) to oversee occupational safety, health and compliance across its warehouses, offices, campuses and extended sites in Malaysia.

You will lead risk controls, conduct audits and drive safety improvements across multi-site operations. The ideal candidate holds DOSH SHO certification, a relevant degree or diploma in OSH, and strong knowledge of Malaysian OSH legislation.

Qualifications

• Must hold Green Book SHO/DOSH registration and be certified.
• Degree or Diploma in Occupational Safety & Health.
• Strong knowledge of Malaysian OSH laws, HIRARC and incident investigations.
• Willing to travel regularly between facilities.

Responsibilities

• Implement safety policies and OSH requirements across all sites.
• Conduct inspections, risk assessments and audits, with corrective actions.
• Oversee warehouse safety, forklift, loading bays and contractor safety.
• Coordinate fleet safety, driver awareness and vehicle checks.
• Monitor office and campus safety, drills and contractor controls.
• Investigate incidents and near-misses; report and close actions.
• Maintain safety records, documents and compliance reports; liaise with authorities.
• Deliver safety inductions, toolbox talks and trainings.
• Lead continuous improvement projects to raise safety standards.
• Support Safety DGM in safety committee meetings and annual plan.

Job description

We are seeking a proactive, Green Book-certified Safety Officer to oversee daily occupational safety, health and compliance across our integrated logistics facilities, including warehouses, transportation operations, offices, colleges located within the same compound, and off-site/extended warehouses. The role combines hands‑on risk control, regulatory compliance, safety engagement and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

Implement, monitor and enforce safety policies, SOPs and applicable Malaysian OSH requirements across all assigned sites and activities.

Conduct routine inspections, hazard identification, HIRARC/risk assessments, safety audits and follow-up on corrective and preventive actions.

Oversee warehouse safety involving forklift/MHE operations, racking, loading bays, pedestrian segregation, contractor activities, fire protection and emergency access.

Coordinate transport and fleet safety initiatives, including driver awareness, vehicle checks, loading/unloading practices and incident prevention.

Monitor building and campus safety for offices, colleges and shared premises, including emergency preparedness, evacuation drills and visitor/contractor controls.

Investigate incidents, near misses and unsafe conditions; prepare reports, identify root causes and track action closure.

Maintain statutory safety documentation, registers, training records and compliance reports; liaise with relevant authorities and internal stakeholders as required.

Conduct safety inductions, toolbox briefings, campaigns and practical training to strengthen safety ownership at every level.

Propose and lead continuous improvement projects to improve safety awareness and physical safeguards; measure effectiveness through leading and lagging safety KPIs.

Support the Safety DGM in safety committee meetings, management reviews, cross‑site standardisation and the annual safety action plan.

About you

Mandatory: Valid DOSH-registered Safety and Health Officer (SHO) / Green Book certification.

Diploma or degree in Occupational Safety & Health, Engineering or a related discipline; relevant hands‑on safety experience, preferably in logistics, warehousing, transport or multi‑site operations.

Sound knowledge of Malaysian OSH legislation, HIRARC, incident investigation, fire/emergency preparedness and contractor safety management.

Strong communication, training, reporting and stakeholder‑management skills; willing to travel regularly between assigned facilities.

Practical, observant and improvement‑oriented, with the ability to influence employees and management to adopt safer practices.
