Job summary

A Star Glasstech (M) Sdn Bhd is seeking a Safety Officer to join its Safety Department in Malaysia. You will enforce safety rules, monitor conditions, and maintain records to prevent incidents. Training and drills are part of the role to ensure preparedness and regulatory compliance.

Applicants should have a Diploma/Certificate in Occupational Safety & Health and at least 1 year of manufacturing safety experience. Proficiency in MS Office and good communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Diploma/Certificate in Occupational Safety & Health or related field.
• At least 1 year of safety working experience in manufacturing.
• Able to work under pressure, self-motivated and confident.
• Computer literate and MS Office proficiency.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Follow safety protocols and ensure compliance with regulations.
• Observe work areas for unsafe conditions and take corrective action.
• Maintain records of accidents, injuries and near misses.
• Train new workers in safety procedures and conduct inspections.
• Prepare workers for emergencies with drills and evacuations.
• Handle inquiries from foreign workers on sickness and injuries.
• Support the Safety Department in daily operations.

Job description

Following safety protocols to ensure compliance with regulations and guidelines

Supports team by performing tasks related to organization and strong communication.

Providing first aid in emergencies and monitoring the condition of ill workers until medical help arrives

Observing work areas for unsafe conditions and taking appropriate action to correct the issue

Maintaining a safe work environment by following safety procedures, rules, and regulations

Educating employees about safety rules and regulations, equipment usage, and accident prevention techniques

Preparing workers for emergencies by conducting fire drills and evacuation simulations

Maintaining records of accidents, injuries, and near misses to help prevent future incidents

Training new workers in safety procedures and performing routine inspections to ensure compliance

Handle foreign workers enquiries such as sick and work injury cases

Positions in the Safety Department.

Job Requirements:

Candidate must possess at least at Diploma or Certificate in Occupational Safety & Health or a related field.

At least 1 year of safety working experience in the manufacturing field is required.

Able to work under pressure, self-motivates and confidence.

Computer literate & competent in MS office

Good interpersonal & communication skills to effectively interact with people at all level.

Experience in a manufacturing or factory environment is an advantage.

Able to commence work immediately
