Job summary

Jaya Grocer in Bukit Jalil is seeking a Sales Assistant to support daily department operations, maintain shelf stock and visual standards, and assist customers with inquiries. The role covers product knowledge across food and non-food categories, freshness control, price accuracy, and compliance with POP and government requirements.

Ideal candidates read and write Bahasa Malaysia and English, are able to multitask, and provide friendly service.

Qualifications

• Must have Secondary School or equivalent.
• Able to read, write and speak Bahasa Malaysia and English.
• Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
• Strong product knowledge and customer service mindset.

Responsibilities

• Assist with day-to-day department operations.
• Maintain department condition with quality stock and visual merchandising standards.
• Provide basic customer services by understanding inquiries.
• Understand product categories and maintain quality and freshness of goods.
• Replenish shelves and ensure FIFO/FEFO compliance.
• Check price changes daily for accuracy.
• Ensure POP and displays meet company and government standards.
• Maintain hygiene of storage and selling areas.
• Monitor temperature for refrigerated/dry goods and update logs.
• Support stock movement feedback and occasional promotions.
• Deliver excellent customer service and assist sales activities.
