Job summary

NielsenIQ in Malaysia (Penang) is seeking a data collection and field operations specialist to conduct in-store audits, recruit and manage panel stores, and ensure high data quality across multiple retail sites.

You will collaborate with MDQC, Data Ops, and Data Science teams, handling ad-hoc tasks while supporting training and process improvements. Strong Bahasa Melayu and English communication is required, with travel to stores as needed.

Qualifications

• 2+ years’ experience in data collection or retail environment.
• Strong communication skills in Bahasa Melayu and English; Mandarin/Cantonese is an advantage.
• Proficiency with smartphones, gadgets, and collaboration tools (Google, MS Office, Skype, etc.).
• Willingness to travel, conduct fieldwork in varying conditions, and engage with shopkeepers.

Responsibilities

• Conduct in-store data collection and retail audits.
• Recruit and maintain panel stores, distribute incentives, and build strong retailer relationships.
• Support auditor hiring, training, supervision, and performance monitoring.
• Handle ad-hoc requests, UC processes, and administrative tasks (cash advances, liquidation, etc.).
• Ensure data quality by revisiting stores, troubleshooting issues, and supporting backend systems.
• Collaborate with teams (MDQC, Data Ops, Data Sci, CSM) to uphold reporting integrity.
• Contribute to team learning, share best practices, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
