Job summary

Midas Mart, managed by Midas Merge Sdn. Bhd., Johor Bahru, Malaysia, seeks an Assistant Accounts Manager (Operations) to lead our Group Accounting Department and support both financial and operational functions in a fast-paced retail environment.

The role requires 5+ years in accounting/finance, strong Excel and AutoCount skills, and a track record in retail. You will oversee month-end close, preparing P&L and balance sheets, and guide the accounts team to optimise processes and reporting.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent qualification in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant working experience in accounting or finance.
• Experience in the retail, hypermarket or supermarket industry will be a strong advantage.
• Strong knowledge of accounting, finance and management principles.
• Strong administrative, documentation and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the daily operations of the Group Accounting Department.
• Ensure month-end, year-end and major accounting reports are completed accurately and on time.
• Prepare and manage full sets of accounts, including Profit and Loss Statements and Balance Sheets.
• Prepare monthly management reports, cash flow forecasts, ageing reports and financial analysis for the Group of Companies.
• Perform monthly reconciliations, including intercompany ageing reconciliation, sales and purchase reconciliation.
• Review and improve accounting controls, work processes and departmental procedures to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
