Job summary

Xiamen University Malaysia is seeking a Resident Engineer (Mechanical & Electrical) for the Construction Office to oversee on-site activities and strictly supervise all M&E works in line with drawings and contract provisions.

The role requires a recognized degree in Electrical Engineering with a minimum of 10 years’ construction supervision experience, including at least 5 years in M&E, and professional engineer registration with the Board of Engineers Malaysia is preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years in industry with at least 5 years in construction supervision of M&E works.
• Professional Engineer registration with the Board of Engineers Malaysia preferred.
• Experience coordinating with consultants and contractors on site.

Responsibilities

• Manage the site organization and activities.
• Inspect and supervise works per drawings, specs and contract provisions.
• Supervise Inspector of Works and be responsible for inspections.
• Ensure quality and accuracy of works meet required standards.
• Test and examine materials per specifications.
• Prepare and maintain site records and reports.
• Monitor and report progress of works.
• Coordinate with consultants and contractors on all aspects.
• Carry out site administration as instructed by client and consultants.

Role and Key Responsibilities

• Manage the site organization and activities.
• Inspect and supervise the works in accordance to drawings, specifications and all other contract provisions.
• Assign works and supervise the Inspector Of Works, be fully responsible for the inspections and supervisions performed by the Inspector Of Works.
• Ensure the required standard of quality and accuracy of works are achieved
• Test and examine the materials used in accordance to specifications and contract provisions.
• Prepare and maintain site records and reports.
• Monitor and report the progress of works.
• Verify and sign work done by the contractor.
• Coordinate and liaise with the consultants and contractors on all aspects of the job.
• Carry out other site administration works as instructed by client and consultants.

Requirements / Qualifications

• A recognized Degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 10 years working experience with at least 5 years' experience in construction supervision of mechanical & electrical works.
• Preferably a Professional Engineer, registered with the Board of Engineers, Malaysia
