• Monitor construction progress, identify delays and implement recovery measures.
• Witness site testing, review results, issue NCRs and verify rectification completion.
• Assess proposed site changes and support variation documentation.
• Monitor QA/QC and workmanship to meet QLASSIC requirements.

About the role

PERUNDING KJP SDN. BHD. is seeking a Resident Engineer (Civil & Structural) for a full-time site-based position in Johor Bahru, Johor, overseeing a Sunway high-rise development. You will lead the site supervision team, oversee RC structural and infrastructure works, coordinate technical solutions with the design consultants, and ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications and quality requirements through to CCC.

Key responsibilities

Lead the site supervision team and ensure C&S works comply with approved drawings, specifications and project quality requirements.

Supervise high-rise reinforced concrete structural works and infrastructure works.

Conduct regular site inspections and verify the compliance of materials and workmanship before acceptance.

Review method statements, shop drawings and material submissions, and respond to RFI/RFA within delegated authority.

Resolve site technical issues in coordination with the design consultants and relevant discipline leads.

Coordinate with the Client, Consultants and Contractors to ensure proper execution of works.

Monitor construction progress, highlight potential delays and follow up on recovery measures.

Witness site testing, review test results, issue NCRs where required and verify completion of rectification works.

Assess proposed site changes and provide technical input and supporting records for variation assessments.

Monitor workmanship quality and follow up on improvements to meet project and QLASSIC requirements.

Coordinate C&S and infrastructure inspections, supporting documentation and closure of outstanding works for CCC.

Monitor safety practices during inspections and report unsafe conditions to the Contractor and project management team.

Attend site meetings and maintain accurate inspection records, photographic records, technical correspondence and progress reports.

What we're looking for

Degree in Civil / Structural Engineering and registered with BEM.

Minimum 5 years of relevant site experience, including high-rise RC structural works and infrastructure works.

Strong technical knowledge of construction methods, structural drawings and specifications.

Experience in leading site supervision teams and resolving technical issues with design consultants.

Familiar with QA/QC procedures, inspections, testing, RFI/RFA and site documentation.

Experience in CCC coordination, inspections and supporting documentation.

QLASSIC and workmanship quality control experience is an advantage.

Good communication, coordination and problem-solving skills.

Able to work independently and liaise effectively with Clients, Consultants and Contractors.

Willing to be based on site in Johor Bahru.

Immediate or early availability is preferred.
