Job summary

WCT Land Sdn Bhd invites a Senior Resident Engineer to lead on-site supervision for high-rise and commercial developments in Kuala Lumpur. The role requires a Civil/Structural Engineering degree and at least 10 years of relevant site experience, with strong coordination and problem-solving skills.

You will enforce drawings, specs, and standards, manage interfaces with consultants and contractors, and ensure safety and quality on site.

Qualifications

• Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Construction or a related field.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant site experience.
• Experience as Resident Engineer / Site Engineer / Project Engineer.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; knowledge of AutoCAD or relevant construction software.
• Willing to be based full-time at the project site.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and monitor daily construction activities on site.
• Ensure works comply with drawings, specifications, method statements and relevant standards.
• Coordinate with consultants, main contractors, subcontractors, suppliers and relevant authorities.
• Review and monitor construction progress against the approved project schedule.
• Inspect workmanship, materials and completed works to ensure quality standards.
• Identify and resolve technical issues and site problems in coordination with the relevant consultants and contractors.
• Review shop drawings, technical submissions, method statements and material submissions where required.
• Monitor testing, inspection and commissioning activities.
• Attend site meetings and provide updates on project progress, technical matters and site issues.
• Maintain proper site records, inspection reports, progress reports and other project documentation.
• Monitor compliance with safety, environmental and regulatory requirements.
• Assist in coordinating authority inspections, approvals and statutory requirements.
• Verify completed works and assist with progress claims, variations and related technical documentation.
• Ensure defects are properly rectified and assist with final inspection and handover activities.

Job description

Requirements

Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Construction or a related field.

Minimum 10 years of relevant site experience, preferably in high-rise, commercial, mixed-development or shoplot projects.

Experience working as a Resident Engineer, Site Engineer, Project Engineer or similar role.

Good knowledge of construction methods, structural works, architectural works, M&E coordination and site supervision.

Strong coordination, communication, problem-solving, and site management skills.

Able to work independently and make sound technical decisions on site.

Proficient in Microsoft Office; knowledge of AutoCAD and/or relevant construction software is an advantage.

Professional Engineer (Ir.) / Board of Engineers Malaysia registration.

Willing to be based full-time at the project site.
