Job summary

Jesselton Medical Centre invites an audiologist to join our private hospital team in Kota Kinabalu. You will perform audiological assessments, fit and program hearing aids, and provide post-dispensing care for inpatients and outpatients.

You will also conduct pediatric audiology, counsel patients and families, and collaborate with ENT specialists and nurses to support comprehensive hearing healthcare within our Metro Town facility.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in Audiology or equivalent qualification.
  • Experience in a hospital, ENT clinic, Audiology Centre, or healthcare setting is preferred.
  • Registered with Malaysian National Society of Audiologist (MANSA) or with the relevant professional/regulatory body, where applicable.
  • Good communication skills, interpersonal skills and problem-solving abilities and team player.
  • Able to work independently and proficient in conducting and interpreting audiological assessments.
  • Required languages: English & Bahasa Malaysia; Mandarin is an added advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Able to conduct audiologist tests to determine the exact nature of a patient's hearing problem.
  • Provide hearing care through comprehensive Audiological evaluations, selection, fitting, dispensing of hearing aids and post-dispensing care.
  • Able to conduct Pediatric Audiology.
  • Conduct comprehensive audiological assessments for inpatients and outpatients as referred by medical practitioners.
  • Assess and manage patients with hearing loss, tinnitus, and other auditory disorders.
  • Interpret audiological results and prepare accurate clinical reports for referring doctors and specialists.
  • Provide hearing aid assessment, fitting, programming, verification, and follow-up.
  • Provide appropriate patient and family counselling regarding hearing conditions, treatment options, and hearing rehabilitation.
  • Collaborate with ENT specialists, medical officers, nurses, and other healthcare professionals in patient management.
  • Conduct occupational hearing assessments and audiometry for corporate and workplace health programmes when required.
  • Ensure all audiological equipment is properly maintained, calibrated, and safe for clinical use.
  • Maintain complete and accurate patient records and clinical documentation in accordance with hospital requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies, infection prevention and control procedures, patient safety requirements, and professional standards.
  • Participate in health screening, community outreach, health promotion, and hearing awareness programmes organised by the hospital.
  • Monitor patient progress and arrange appropriate follow-up, referral, or further investigation when necessary.
  • Maintain confidentiality of patient information and uphold professional ethics and standards of practice.
  • Participate in relevant training, continuing professional development (CPD), quality improvement activities, and hospital programmes.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the Head of Department, ENT Specialist, Medical Director, or Management.

Experience in a hospital, ENT clinic, Audiology Centre, or healthcare setting is preferred.

Registered with Malaysian National Society of Audiologist (MANSA) or with the relevant professional/regulatory body, where applicable.

Good communication skills, interpersonal skills and problem-solving abilities and team player.

Able to work independently.

Proficient in conducting and interpreting audiological assessments.

Required language (s): English & Bahasa Malaysia.

Ability to communicate in Mandarin is an added advantage.

A Physiotherapy centre, 24 hours Emergency & Trauma Department, Pathology testing laboratory, Haemodialysis centre, 3 Endoscopic Rooms, 3 Operating Theatres, 6 ICU beds and 7 Labour & Delivery Suites.
