Job summary

Translation and Interpretation Services Company is seeking an interpreter for 100% work-from-home based in Malaysia. The role involves consecutive interpretation across Mandarin and English (Mandarin-English-Mandarin) for live doctor-patient and client conversations.

Night shifts are 100% and rotate monthly, with shifts from 7pm to 3am and a minimum of 40 hours per week. Basic package ranges from RM5700 to RM6500 monthly.

Qualifications

• Excellent listening, retention and note taking skills to maintain a high level of accuracy.
• Ability to concentrate, stay detached from the conversation, and always remain neutral and objective.
• Ability to follow client's instructions closely.
• Ability to explain cultural concepts to avoid miscommunication when requested by the client.
• CEFR English level bilingual with other required languages.
• Able to work from home on a permanent basis.

Responsibilities

• Provide language interpretation from one language to another for individuals with language barriers to understand and communicate.
• Handle telephone or video calls on demand and render meaning of conversations in consecutive mode.
• Process information quickly, recognize cultural differences, and remain professional and courteous.
• Use appropriate industry terminology and understand common procedures across Healthcare, Government, Insurance, Finance, Utilities, Travel and Hospitality, 911, Law, and General Business.
