Job summary

Translation and Interpretation Services Company is seeking an Interpreter working from home, based in Malaysia, for night shifts. You will perform consecutive interpretation for doctor-patient, banker-client, and other live conversations, with 8 hours per shift and a minimum of 40 hours weekly.

Salary packages range from RM5700 to RM6500, with US-based or other languages as required. The position requires strong listening, note-taking, neutrality, and cultural awareness, and allows permanent

Excellent listening, retention and note taking skills to maintain a high level of accuracy.
Ability to concentrate, stay detached from the conversation, and always remain neutral and objective.
Ability to quickly establish personal credibility.
Ability to follow client's instructions closely.
Ability to explain certain cultural concepts to avoid miscommunication with the permission or at request of the client.

Responsibilities

Provide language interpretation from one language to another for individuals with language barriers to understand and communicate.
Handle telephone or video calls on demand and render meaning of conversations in the consecutive mode of interpretation between speakers of English.
Process information quickly and concisely, recognize sensitive cultural differences, and stay professional and courteous.
Use appropriate industry terminology and understand common industry procedures; calls may involve healthcare, government, insurance, finance, utilities, travel, hospitality, 911, law enforcement, courts, and general business.
