Job summary

Translation and Interpretation Services Company is seeking an Interpreter working from home, based in Malaysia, for night shifts. You will perform consecutive interpretation for doctor-patient, banker-client, and other live conversations, with 8 hours per shift and a minimum of 40 hours weekly.

Salary packages range from RM5700 to RM6500, with US-based or other languages as required. The position requires strong listening, note-taking, neutrality, and cultural awareness, and allows permanent

Qualifications

• Excellent listening, retention and note taking skills to maintain a high level of accuracy.
• Ability to concentrate, stay detached from the conversation, and always remain neutral and objective.
• Ability to quickly establish personal credibility.
• Ability to follow client's instructions closely.
• Ability to explain certain cultural concepts to avoid miscommunication with the permission or at request of the client.

Responsibilities

• Provide language interpretation from one language to another for individuals with language barriers to understand and communicate.
• Handle telephone or video calls on demand and render meaning of conversations in the consecutive mode of interpretation between speakers of English.
• Process information quickly and concisely, recognize sensitive cultural differences, and stay professional and courteous.
• Use appropriate industry terminology and understand common industry procedures; calls may involve healthcare, government, insurance, finance, utilities, travel, hospitality, 911, law enforcement, courts, and general business.
