Job summary

CelcomDigi in Subang Jaya, Malaysia, seeks an experienced engineer to plan and manage IPRAN, VSAT and transmission networks to support mobile rollout, LTE expansion, MCMC and JENDELA requirements. Role Summary

Plans and manages IPRAN, VSAT, and transmission networks to support mobile rollout, LTE expansion, MCMC and JENDELA requirements. Drives Capex project delivery, capacity build initiatives, and cost optimization through VSAT/leased-line rationalization while improving operational efficiency via workflow automation and governance.

Drives Capex project delivery, capacity build initiatives, and cost optimization through VSAT/leased-line rationalization while improving operational efficiency via workflow automation and governance.

Responsibilities

• You are responsible for the design and planning of access connectivity network.
• You will also be expected to understand the high-level architecture of the fiber and electronics network, end-to-end solution and technical parameters of equipment and accessories related to fiber infrastructure such as duct and manhole, implementation methods, fiber cable and accessories.
• Your fiber planning and design responsibility covers the scopes below.
  • Design and plan for expansion of network elements including monitoring under the mandate of Access Connectivity planning, including but not limited to microwave, satellite, metro and IPRAN, WDM, fibre optics network and leased lines; to support coverage, capacity, regulatory, and fiberization objectives.
  • Play a strong supporting contributor role in project teams, meetings and discussions, mini‑sourcing initiatives and other related initiatives i.e. OE savings, new technology POC, wherever applicable in the field of access transport planning in order to champion and co‑own with the management to drive the division or department’s agenda.
  • Be aware and actively participate in operational efficiency projects to strive for continuous CAPEX, OPEX and COGS reduction through transmission infra and design optimization. Collaboration with internal customers and external parties to explore and execute.
  • Plan for required investment needed to support growth and expansion and provide accurate input to the investment review exercise.
  • Responsibility also includes performing analysis of requirements and solutioning with the objective to establish the cost and output plans. The personnel is required to compare and select the most cost efficient and suitable solution with the required network reliability within the established guidelines, and maintain proper database management.
  • The personal will be responsible to communicate and liaise with other teams for execution.
  • On top of that, the personnel are expected to constantly improve and optimize processes and way of work. Identify gaps with follow up efforts to close the gaps for smoother day‑to‑day work and execution.
  • Database update and safekeeping for all working tools, share points and 3rd‑party tools.

Requirements

• Minimum of 3-5 years working experience in the scope of transmission plan and design with a good understanding of Access, Metro and Trunk Transport network.
• Good knowledge in transport technologies inclusive of VSAT, 3rd party lease provider, microwave, DWDM systems, Ethernet/IP Technology and synchronization
• Knowledge of Telecoms & IT industry
• Good Analytical, Project Management, interpersonal & communication.
• Good influencing and presentation skills.
• Brief leadership skills gained from past project, experienced, training and job assignment.
