Job summary

RGP invites applications for an Interim Regional Financial Controller – Manufacturing based in Malaysia. This six-month contract will provide financial oversight and business partnering across Southeast Asia, with a hands-on role strengthening governance and reporting in a multinational manufacturing setting.

You will lead month-end close, P&L, balance sheet and cash flow management, mentor the regional finance team, and collaborate with regional and international stakeholders to drive cost

Qualifications

• Degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline, ideally with ACCA/CPA/CIMA/CA.
• Significant controllership experience in manufacturing/industrial environments.
• Strong understanding of financial accounting, reporting, budgeting, forecasting and governance.
• Experience with manufacturing finance including inventory, costing, operational performance and margin analysis.
• Experience with multinational organisations with regional/international reporting and leadership of finance teams.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and business partnering capabilities.
• Hands-on in a dynamic, operational environment.

Responsibilities

Interim Regional Financial Controller – Manufacturing

Location: Malaysia | Onsite

Duration: 6-Month Contract

Travel: Occasional domestic travel

The Opportunity

We are seeking an accomplished finance leader for a six-month interim assignment with a multinational manufacturing organisation, providing financial oversight and business partnering across Southeast Asia.

This hands-on role will strengthen financial governance, enhance reporting and operational performance, and support finance improvement initiatives in collaboration with regional and international stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee financial controllership activities, including month-end and year-end close, management reporting, P&L, balance sheet and cash flow management.
• Ensure accurate, timely financial reporting in accordance with local statutory and applicable group reporting requirements.
• Strengthen financial governance, internal controls, compliance and audit readiness.
• Lead and develop finance team capabilities, improving processes, accountability and reporting efficiency.
• Manage budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis and financial performance reporting.
• Partner with manufacturing, operations and commercial leadership to improve cost visibility, profitability and business performance.

About You

• Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline, ideally with a professional accounting qualification (ACCA, CPA, CIMA, CA or equivalent).
• Significant financial controllership experience within manufacturing or industrial environments.
• Strong understanding of financial accounting, management reporting, budgeting, forecasting and financial governance.
• Experience with manufacturing finance, including inventory, costing, operational performance and margin analysis.
• Previous experience working within multinational organisations with regional or international reporting responsibilities.Demonstrated ability to lead finance teams and engage effectively with senior business stakeholders.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and business partnering capabilities.
• Comfortable working hands-on in a dynamic, operational environment.

Additional Experience That Would Be Advantageous

• Exposure to US GAAP reporting and SOX-related controls.
• Experience supporting finance integration, process improvement or transformation initiatives.
• Familiarity with ERP and financial consolidation systems.
• Experience supporting finance operations across multiple Southeast Asian markets.
