Job summary

C&C I Motive Sdn. Bhd. is seeking an R&D Software Engineer to advance automotive software development in Malaysia. You will work with Python, C/C++, and ML-based vision on embedded platforms to enable intelligent, connected automotive systems.

Responsibilities include machine vision, embedded Linux/Android porting, board bring-up, and PLC interfaces for automation. You will help ensure quality with ISO 9001, APQP, ASPICE, MISRA guidance, and collaborate across teams.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience in software development or embedded systems development.
• Understanding of automotive quality requirements and IATF 16949 principles.
• Experience in programming languages in C/C++/Phyton.
• Experience with software debugging and testing tools.
• Knowledge of ASPICE, ISO 26262, and ISO/SAE 21434 is an advantage.

• Develop firmware and low-level drivers for embedded platforms (MCUs, SoCs).
• Interface with industrial automation systems and PLCs for equipment control, data acquisition, and process feedback.
• Create vision-based detection, classification, or measurement algorithms to improve automation reliability.
• Prepare and maintain software development documentation, including requirements, design descriptions, test reports, and release notes.
• Execute software verification and validation activities to ensure compliance with customer and automotive requirements.
• Conduct unit testing, debugging, and performance optimization.
• Ensure ISO 9001, APQP Requirements and automotive software standards (e.g., ASPICE, MISRA).

As an R&D Software Engineer, you will be at the forefront of our mission to innovate and elevate the automotive industry through the development of sophisticated software solutions. This role demands expertise in Python programming, PyQt, human-machine interface (HMI) design, deep learning, machine vision, C++, Embedded and automation. JOB DESCRIPTION

Design and implement machine vision solutions using Python, OpenCV, and deep learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch) to enable automated inspection and quality control.

Develop firmware and low-level drivers for embedded platforms (MCUs, SoCs).

Participate in board bring-up, peripheral initialization, and interface coding (I2C, SPI, UART, GPIO).

Assist in embedded Linux/Android porting and kernel/device tree configuration.

Interface with industrial automation systems and PLCs (e.g., Siemens, Omron, Mitsubishi) for equipment control, data acquisition, and process feedback.

Create vision-based detection, classification, or measurement algorithms to improve automation reliability and reduce human inspection.

Prepare and maintain software development documentation, including requirements, design descriptions, test reports, and release notes.

Execute software verification and validation activities to ensure compliance with customer and automotive requirements.

Support APQP activities and contribute to DFMEA, risk assessments, and product development deliverables

Conduct unit testing, debugging, and performance optimization.

Support production and test engineering with firmware issues during manufacturing.

Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, APQP Requirements and automotive software standards (e.g., ASPICE, MISRA).

AUTHORITY

Recommend software design improvements and optimization solutions.

Review and approve assigned software development documents within authorized scope.

Initiate corrective actions for software-related issues identified during development and validation.

Recommend software changes and enhancements through engineering change processes.

Escalate technical risks, software defects, and project concerns to management.

Participate in software design reviews and technical decision-making processes.

REQUIREMENT

Minimum 3 years of experience in software development or embedded systems development.

Understanding of automotive quality requirements and IATF 16949 principles.

Experience in programming languages in C/C++/Phyton

Experience with software debugging and testing tools.

Knowledge of version control systems such as Git or SVN.

Familiarity with software verification and validation methodologies.

Knowledge of ASPICE, ISO 26262, and ISO/SAE 21434 is an advantage.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
