Job summary

Armstrong Auto Parts Sdn Bhd is seeking a proactive professional to manage all New Product Introduction (NPI) and R&D tasks for new product development. You will oversee NPI activities, review all related documentation, and ensure compliance with internal and external requirements.

The role requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering Mechatronic/Mechanical, driving license, and at least 5 years of related experience in the automotive industry.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering Mechatronic/Mechanical is required.
• Experience with Excel, PowerPoint, Word and strong presentation skills.
• Candidate should possess good communication, leadership, proactive attitude and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Manage all New Product Introduction (NPI) and R&D tasks for new product development.
• Oversee NPI activities to meet deadlines and customer requirements.
• Review and approve documentation related to NPI and R&D.
• Review in-house drawings, APQP/ECN processes, and related documentation.
• Ensure compliance with internal and external (customer, certification body) requirements.
• Coordinate testing, review test schedules and costs, and approve test plans.
• Review and verify ECN initiated by internal or customer.
• Lead APQP meetings and ensure adequate support from team members.
• Report departmental activities and progress to superior, and manage subordinates and KRAs.

Job description

To perform management of all New Product Introduction (NPI) and R&D tasks of all new products development.

Job Responsibility

New Product Introduction and R&D

To oversee all New Product Introduction activities meet the deadlines and customer requirements.

To review & give approval on all matter/documentation related to New Product Introduction and R&D.

To review and approve the in house drawing creation.

Review & compilation of sectional flow & procedures.

Ensuring flow & procedures metts internal (management) & external (customer, certification body) requirements

Product Testing

To review all testing needed as per customer specifications & requirements.

To review & approve all the testing schedule compliance with the overall development timing.

To review & approve the testing cost incurred whether internally or out source test.

To acknowledge the test report before submission.

Technical Specification

To review & ensure all the technical specification required by customer or internal reflected into product drawings.

To ensure all record keeping of the technical specification originate from customer, TA or internal specifications

To review & verify ECR initiate by internal (change that impact products form, fit function & reliability) or by customer.

Oversee & ensure all ECN management conducted effectively and efficiently by following the procedure.

APQP team

To review & approve the APQP reporting report by new model PIC.

To ensure the smoothness APQP meeting & receive sufficient support from all APQP members.

To monitor sub-coordinate communication with TC/TA with matter related to technical and development

To become the window of communication with TC/TA when needed.

Others

To report all departmental activities & progress to superior

Over see subordinates task & individual key result area in meeting the departmental objective.

To maintain all departmental system according to QMS/Organizational requirements.

To involve/lead in the improvement & cost optimization activities.

To review, update & report engineering deliverables & initiate appropriate corrective action.

To undertake any assignment from superior

Job Requirement

Candidate must possess at least Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering Mechatronic/Mechanical

Possess valid driving license

Possess working experience in automotive industry will be an added advantage.

Minimum 5 years of working experience in the related field.

Required skill(s): Excel, Power Point, Microsoft Words, Presentation Skills and analytical skills

Possess good communication skills, ability to lead, proactive, good problem-solving skills, strong work ethic and integrity
