Job summary

Y&J Industries Sdn Bhd is seeking a chemist/research technician to assist in developing and improving dry-mix construction materials and related products. The role includes conducting laboratory testing, formulation trials, and evaluating raw materials to boost performance and cost efficiency.

The ideal candidate will have a diploma or degree in chemistry or a related field, hands-on lab experience, and the ability to collaborate with production and suppliers.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Applied Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Polymer Science or related discipline.
• Experience in R&D, QC, laboratory, manufacturing, construction materials, coatings or adhesives will be an added advantage.
• Hands-on, responsible and willing to learn.
• Able to work effectively with different teams.
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Proficiency in Bahasa Malaysia and English. Willing to travel when required.
• Possess own transportation.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the development and improvement of dry-mix construction materials and related products.
• Conduct laboratory testing, formulation trials and product evaluation.
• Evaluate raw materials and support product performance and cost improvement.
• Monitor product quality and assist in troubleshooting technical or production issues.
• Maintain proper laboratory, formulation and testing records.
• Support product testing, technical documentation and certification activities when required.
• Work closely with Production, suppliers and management on technical matters and product improvement.
• Ensure proper operation, maintenance and safety of laboratory equipment.
• Demonstrate a positive attitude and willingness to learn, grow and develop together with the company.
• Perform other related technical duties as assigned from time to time.
