Job summary

G.B. Industries invites a Laboratory Junior Executive to join our R&D laboratory teams at Chembong and Sendayan. The role supports material testing, QA, and technical investigations across raw materials, in-process compounds and finished products.

You will collaborate with R&D, Production, Quality and Procurement to ensure reliable test results, maintain compliance with ASTM/ISO standards and contribute to continuous improvement in product quality and process efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Polymer Science, Chemistry, or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant laboratory experience in rubber, latex, polymer, glove or manufacturing industry.
• Strong hands-on experience in laboratory testing of raw materials, in-process compounds and finished products.
• Familiarity with ASTM, ISO and EN/IEC testing standards.
• Experience with ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 or similar systems.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with clear technical reporting.

Responsibilities

• Perform and oversee laboratory testing of incoming raw materials, in-process compounds and finished products.
• Conduct chemical, latex colloidal and physical property testing (pH, viscosity, density, tensile strength, etc.).
• Analyze results, identify trends, investigate root causes and provide technical recommendations.
• Support R&D activities, raw material evaluations, production trials, troubleshooting and new product development.
• Ensure lab methods are validated, calibrated, and maintained.
• Coordinate with external labs for third-party testing and evaluate reports for compliance.
