Saint-Gobain Malaysia is seeking an R&D Laboratory Technician to support engineers in testing cement sand stabilization, mortars, and concrete prototypes. You will perform routine tests, operate a lab mixer, prepare samples, and document results to ensure high standards.
Responsibilities include data recording, equipment calibration, safety adherence, and collaboration with QA/QC and operations for timely issue resolution.

To assist R&D Engineers with small-scale product trials, conducting material analysis, operating, maintaining, and calibrating laboratory equipment to ensure accurate, high-standard results. Conduct and Handling R&D activities in a manner commensurate with Weber ISO QEHS Best Practices methodologies.
Prototype Development: Assist R&D Engineers in creating and testing new product prototypes, particularly in cement sand stabilization, mortar or concrete. Conduct routine R&D laboratory tests involving sample preparation, PSD, titration, density and mechanical strength determination.
New incoming materials R&D tasks.
R&D Prototype and Experimentation inspection checks
Trial Runs: Operate specialized machinery (e.g., Lab scale mixer) for new product development samples.
Data Analysis: Record and analyze test results accurately, maintain detailed records and documentation to support product improvements
Performance Testing: Test the strength, durability, and flexibility of materials under various conditions.
Equipment Maintenance: Perform preventive and corrective maintenance, cleaning, and calibration of laboratory instruments to ensure functionality.
ISO (QEHS) management system compliance: Conduct lab activities adhere to established SOPs, and safety standards (including 5S).
Sample Management: Collect and prepare material samples (liquid, paste, mortar, rock and concrete) for testing.
Work closely with operation team to ensure a smooth run for the operation and compliance ISO to produce a high quality of Weber & Emix product.
Work closely with QAQC, Technical/ Commercial team regarding customer feedback or complaint to support resolve issue timely.
At least completed high school education (SRP/ PMR/ SPM/ STPM), or certificate level or higher with minimum 1 - 2 years’ experience in Laboratory testing activities.
Able to work independently.
Good interactive & time management skill.
Good command in Bahasa Malaysia & English and computer literate.
Basic Laboratory skill, construction material testing equipment techniques and 5S implementation.
Knowledge of Problem-solving tools: Fishbone Diagram, Pareto Chart and SWOT Analysis to identify root causes, breakdown issues, brainstorm ideas and improvement.
