Job summary

Liancon Sdn Bhd, a Johor Bahru-based building and interior fit-out contractor, seeks a Quantity Surveyor to manage the commercial side of projects—from tender pricing to final accounts. You will price BOQs, take-offs from drawings, prepare monthly progress claims, and handle variation orders.

The ideal candidate holds a Diploma or Degree in Quantity Surveying, with at least 2 years of QS experience, strong Excel skills, and proficiency in Chinese, English and Bahasa Malaysia.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Quantity Surveying or related field is required.
• Minimum 2 years of QS experience with a contractor or sub-contractor.
• Able to price a consultant BQ and take-off quantities from drawings.
• Experience preparing progress claims, variation orders and final accounts.
• Strong MS Excel skills with BQ/claim layouts.

Responsibilities

• Price tenders and quotations by reading BQs, drawings and specs.
• Take-off quantities from drawings and check consultant BQ quantities.
• Prepare monthly progress claims and follow up to payment.
• Prepare and negotiate variation orders with quantities, rates and records.
• Obtain subcontractor quotes and prepare awards and letters of award.
• Check and certify subcontractor claims against site work.
• Track project budget against actual costs and report overruns early.
• Prepare final accounts and close out projects with main contractor and subs.
