Job summary

Randstad Malaysia, on behalf of a leading Malaysian construction firm, seeks an experienced Quantity Surveyor/Contract Manager to contribute to large-scale high-rise developments in Kuala Lumpur. You will drive tendering, cost planning, contract administration, valuations, and post-contract cost control across complex projects.

The ideal candidate has a degree in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management, with high-rise building experience and a proven track record in cost management

• Prefer candidates with high rise building experience.

Responsibilities

• Cost planning and estimation for construction projects.
• Manage tender process, including bills of quantities, reviewing bids, and negotiating contracts.

• Conduct interim valuations and prepare progress payments for contractors and subcontractors.
• Provide post-contract cost control and final accounts reconciliation.

About the job
You will primarily be responsible for project tender & pre-post contract management in highrise projects. The process will includes:

• Cost Planning & Estimation: Prepare detailed cost estimates and budgets for construction projects, including initial estimates and final costs. Provide accurate advice on cost and procurement strategy throughout the project life-cycle.

• Tendering & Procurement: Manage the tender process, including preparation of bills of quantities, reviewing contractor bids, and negotiating contracts. Work closely with clients and contractors to ensure cost efficiency.

• Contract Administration: Administer contracts, ensuring compliance with agreed-upon terms. Manage any variations or changes to the project scope and evaluate the financial impact.

• Valuation & Payment: Conduct interim valuations and prepare progress payments for contractors and subcontractors. Ensure accurate valuations of completed work for payment certification.

• Post-Contract Services: Provide post-contract cost control and management, including final accounts preparation, settlement of claims, and cost reconciliation.

About the manager / team

You will be reporting to the Contract Manager / HOD who comes with many years of experience with the organisation.
