Job summary

Pertama Makmur is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to manage pre- and post-contract activities for construction projects in Kuala Lumpur. Responsibilities include preparing tenders, budgets, and cost estimates, handling claims and final accounts, and coordinating with clients and subcontractors.

The role requires a Diploma/Bachelor in Quantity Surveying with 3-4 years of related experience, strong math skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently to meet deadlines.

Qualifications

• Diploma/Bachelor Degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent.
• Familiar with tender documentation and process, valuation, award and final accounts.
• Minimum of 3-4 years of related experience; building projects preferred.
• Aptitude in math and problem-solving; attention to detail.
• Responsible, able to prioritize duties and meet deadlines.
• Independent and requires minimum supervision.

Responsibilities

• Prepare tender/quotation documents and submit within deadlines.
• Review tender documents and submission of tender/quotation.
• Prepare budget estimates from drawings and bill of quantities.
• Cost estimation across disciplines; monitor monthly progress claims and final accounts.
• Coordinate with client/consultant on main contract and variation orders.
• Attend site valuation, site measurement and meetings as necessary.
• Award contractors/subcontractors for project construction.
• Acquire quotations from contractors and suppliers for cost analysis.
• Monitor amendments to scope, variations, and extension of time.
• Coordinate with finance on payments and cash flow reports.
• Other related duties as assigned.

Accountable for pre and post contract management.

Pre Contract

Preparation of tender/quotation documents, review tender documents and submission of tender/quotation within a specific deadline.

Post Contract

Preparation and submission of budgetary estimates from construction drawings, bill of quantities for all disciplines and costs estimation.

Responsible for monthly progress claim, variation orders, finalize of accounts, prepare for sub-contractor payment certificate and final account.

Coordinate with client/consultant on the main contract and variation order when necessary.

Attend site valuation, site measurement and meetings when necessary.

Award of contractors and/or subcontractors who work on the construction of the project.

Acquire quotation from contractors and suppliers for cost assessment, analysis or budgeting purposes.

Monitor on amendments to the scope of works and conditions of contract, variation order and apply extension of time if necessary.

Coordinate with finance department on payment, monitor monthly cash flow projection and generate relevant reports.

Any other related duties as assigned.
