Job summary

Seng Hiap Glass in Johor Bahru is seeking a dedicated Quantity Surveyor to support cost management on construction and development projects.

You will review drawings, prepare quantities and cost reports, manage tenders and VO, and liaise with contractors to keep projects within budget. The role requires strong Excel skills, reading drawings and independent teamwork. A competitive salary is offered.

Qualifications

• Diploma/Degree in Quantity Surveying or related field.
• Experience in construction/development projects is preferred.
• Able to read and understand construction drawings.
• Knowledge of BQ, costing, tendering, claims and VO.
• Good communication, negotiation and Microsoft Excel skills.
• Able to work independently and as part of a project team.

Responsibilities

• Review architectural, structural and M&E drawings and specifications.
• Perform quantity take-off and prepare Bill of Quantities (BQ).
• Prepare project cost estimates, budgets and cost reports.
• Prepare tender documents and evaluate contractors'/suppliers' quotations.
• Source and negotiate with contractors, subcontractors and suppliers.
• Monitor and control project costs to ensure they are within budget.
• Review and verify progress claims and payments.
• Prepare and evaluate Variation Orders (VO).
• Conduct site measurements and verify completed works.
• Assist in value engineering and cost-saving exercises.
• Liaise with consultants, contractors, suppliers and internal project teams.
• Attend site and project meetings when required.
• Handle contract documentation and final accounts.
