Job summary

Jora Malaysia is seeking a skilled Quantity Surveyor to manage project costs from design through to completion, ensuring that all projects stay within budget, meet quality standards and comply with regulations.

You will prepare cost estimates, budgets, BOQ and tender documents, oversee procurement, evaluate quotations, monitor variations and payments, and liaise with consultants, contractors and internal teams to maintain cost control.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Quantity Surveying or related field.
• Min 3 years of experience in Quantity Surveying, preferably in property development or construction.
• Good knowledge of construction costs, tendering, procurement and contract administration.
• Familiar with BOQ, variation orders, progress claims and cost control.
• Strong analytical, negotiation and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Able to work independently and manage multiple projects or tasks.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and relevant quantity surveying software.

Responsibilities

• Prepare cost estimates, budgets and cost plans for construction projects.
• Prepare and review BOQ, tender documents and contract documents.
• Manage the tendering and procurement process, including evaluation of quotations and tender submissions.
• Source and evaluate quotations from contractors and suppliers.
• Monitor project costs, variations, claims and payment applications throughout the project.
• Prepare progress claims, valuations and payment certificates.
• Manage and evaluate variation orders and ensure proper cost control.
• Monitor project expenditure against approved budgets and provide regular cost reports.
• Assist in contract administration and ensure compliance with contractual requirements.
• Liaise with consultants, contractors, suppliers and internal project teams on cost and contractual matters.
