Job summary

HC Industrial Builder Sdn Bhd is seeking an analytical and detail-oriented Quantity Surveyor to manage all financial and contractual aspects of construction projects. About the Role

We are looking for an analytical and detail-oriented Quantity Surveyor to manage all financial and contractual aspects of our construction projects. In this role, you will take ownership of cost estimation, procurement, tendering, budget tracking, and contract administration—working closely with project teams, consultants, and subcontractors to ensure commercial profitability, accurate cost control, and smooth financial execution across the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare comprehensive cost estimates, Bills of Quantities (BQ), and pricing documents for tender submissions and project budgeting.
• Evaluate and analyze tenders, quotations, and bids from subcontractors and suppliers to ensure competitive and accurate pricing.
• Manage contract documentation, tender processes, and interim valuations in alignment with standard construction contract conditions.
• Prepare, submit, and negotiate monthly progress claims, payment applications, and final accounts with clients and consultants.
• Monitor project cost performance against budgets, tracking variations, cash flow, and potential cost overruns.
• Evaluate, price, and negotiate Variation Orders (VOs) and extension of time cost impacts with stakeholders.
• Draft, review, and administer subcontractor work packages, letters of award, and back-to-back contract conditions.
• Assess and certify subcontractor progress claims, back-charges, and final account settlements accurately and timely.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Minimum 1 to 10 years of experience in quantity surveying and commercial contract management within the building construction industry, preferably with main contractors.
• Strong proficiency in measurement, cost planning, pricing, and local construction contract administration.
• Familiarity with construction materials, pricing trends, and contractual claim workflows.
• Strong analytical, numerical, and meticulous attention to detail.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and commercial problem-solving abilities.
• Possesses a valid driving license and willingness to travel to project sites or meetings when required.
