Job summary

Private Advertiser seeks a Project Engineer to support the Project Manager in planning, coordination, and execution of electrical/M&E works on projects.

The role acts as the day-to-day technical bridge between design, procurement, and site installation teams.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering.
• 3–7 years in M&E/electrical contracting; data centre, industrial, or large commercial project experience preferred.
• Solid understanding of LV distribution, cabling, containment systems, and standby power installations.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, BOQs, and technical specifications.
• Working knowledge of relevant codes and standards (SS/CP, BS, IEC) and local regulatory requirements.
• Proficient in MS Office and AutoCAD; exposure to BIM/Revit coordination is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Review and interpret electrical design drawings, single-line diagrams, and technical specifications for buildability and compliance.
• Prepare and track material submittals, shop drawings, RFIs, and technical queries with consultants.
• Coordinate installation sequencing on site with subcontractors, supervisors, and other trades (ACMV, fire protection, civil).
• Assist in preparing method statements, risk assessments, and inspection & test plans (ITPs) for electrical works.
• Monitor site progress against programme and flag delays or resource constraints to the Project Manager.
• Support procurement by verifying technical compliance of quotations and material submissions against project specifications.
• Coordinate testing and commissioning activities, including witnessing FAT and SAT where required.
• Maintain accurate site records, progress photos, and as-built documentation for handover.
• Support the preparation of variation order (VO) justifications and technical substantiation in coordination with QS.

Key responsibilities

Prepare and track material submittals, shop drawings, RFIs, and technical queries with consultants.

About you
