Job summary

Grand Built Construction Company in Shah Alam, Selangor is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to manage take-off quantities for tenders, prepare sub-contract documentation, monitor costs and support final accounts.

The ideal candidate has 6–10 years’ experience, a Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Quantity Surveying, and fluency in Bahasa Malaysia and English, with strong proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Quantity Surveying or related discipline
• 6–10 years of relevant experience in quantity surveying
• Ability to work independently and manage tasks efficiently
• Familiar with construction contracts and contract forms
• Proficient in Bahasa Malaysia and English

• To implement all policies, activities, procedures, instructions, as relevant and required.
• To be in-charge of taking-off quantities for tendering purposes.
• To carry out procurement activities such as checking and finalization of sub-contract tender documentations; calling and opening of tenders; tender evaluation and comparison; arrangement and participation in tender clarification interviews; and preparation of sub-contract tender reports.
• To be in-charge of post-contract duties in the following areas:
• Prepare of sub-contract Award Letters and sub-contract Contract, including managing the entire subcontract award process.
• Prepare and submit main contractor progress claim.
• Verification of sub-contractor’s payments and preparation of payment certificates.
• Checking of Site OS’s payment recommendation to sub-contractors and preparation of payment certificates.
• Perform regular cost monitoring and evaluate variation orders to ensure construction costs are controlled within the approved project budget.
• Taking-off quantities for final account purposes.
• Preparation of final accounts
• Settlement of final account with Consultant QS.
• To undertake any and all other duties and responsibilities as so instructed by the Superior.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Quantity Surveying or related discipline
• Minimum of 6-10 years of relevant working experience in quantity surveying or related roles
• Ability to work independently and manage tasks efficiently.
• Familiar with construction contracts, standard forms of contract and basic contract law concepts
• Proficient in Bahasa Malaysia and English
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word).
