Job summary

Seng Yong Builders Sdn Bhd in Penang seeks a Quantity Surveyor to join the Civil/Structural Engineering team. This full-time role is based in Perai and focuses on managing the financial aspects of construction projects to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery.

You will prepare cost estimates, review contracts, process progress claims and final accounts, and coordinate with architects, engineers, and site teams to track costs.

Qualifications

• Degree in Quantity Surveying or related field is required.
• 3–5 years' experience as a QS in construction.
• Strong cost management and contract administration knowledge.
• Excellent communication with stakeholders.
• Proficient with quantity surveying software and IT tools.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and submit construction cost estimates, including material and labour costs.
• Review and analyze contract documents and drawings to identify risks and opportunities.
• Prepare and process progress claims, variation orders, and final accounts.
• Coordinate with architects, engineers, and site teams to ensure accurate cost tracking.
• Attend meetings with consultants and clients to ensure tender/contract documents consistency.
• Collaborate with the project management team to resolve commercial issues.
