Job summary

Seng Yong Builders Sdn Bhd in Penang seeks a Quantity Surveyor to join the Civil/Structural Engineering team. This full-time role is based in Perai and focuses on managing the financial aspects of construction projects to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery.

You will prepare cost estimates, review contracts, process progress claims and final accounts, and coordinate with architects, engineers, and site teams to track costs.

Qualifications

• Degree in Quantity Surveying or related field is required.
• 3–5 years' experience as a QS in construction.
• Strong cost management and contract administration knowledge.
• Excellent communication with stakeholders.
• Proficient with quantity surveying software and IT tools.

Responsibilities

As a Quantity Surveyor at Seng Yong Builders Sdn Bhd, you will play a crucial role in the Civil/Structural Engineering team. This full-time position is based in Perai, Penang and will involve managing the financial aspects of construction projects to ensure their successful delivery.

What you'll be doing

Prepare and submit construction cost estimates, including material and labour costs.

Coordinate with architects, engineers, and site teams to ensure accurate cost tracking.

Attend meetings and coordinate with consultants and clients, under supervision, to ensure consistency of tender and contract documents.

Collaborating with the project management team to resolve any commercial issues

What we're looking for

Degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related field

Minimum 3-5 years' experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry

Thorough understanding of construction cost management and contract administration

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with stakeholders

Proficient in using relevant quantity surveying software and IT tools

Independent & able to meet tight schedule
