Saga Fire Engineering Sdn Bhd is seeking a committed Quantity Surveyor to manage commercial and contractual aspects of civil, infrastructure and M&E projects in Malaysia. Responsibilities span tender review, quantity take-offs, procurement, subcontracts, site valuations and final accounts.
The ideal candidate holds a Diploma or Degree in Quantity Surveying and has at least 2 years of relevant experience, with a preference for those familiar with roadworks and water-related projects.
We are looking for a committed and capable Quantity Surveyor to manage the commercial and contractual aspects of our civil, infrastructure and M&E projects. Our projects include roadworks, drainage, sewerage, water reticulation, water tanks, earthworks, fire-protection systems and other associated works.
Working schedule: Monday to Friday (full day) and Saturday (half day).
Review tender documents, drawings, specifications and contract conditions.
Prepare quantity and material take-offs, Bills of Quantities, cost estimates and tender submissions.
Obtain and evaluate quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.
Prepare tender comparisons and assist with procurement and commercial negotiations.
Prepare Letters of Award, subcontract documents and other commercial documents for management approval.
Administer subcontracts and maintain proper contractual records.
Conduct site measurements and valuations of completed works.
Prepare client progress claims and assess subcontractor claims.
Prepare and manage variation orders, contractual claims and supporting documents.
Monitor project budgets, costs, cash flow and projected final costs.
Diploma or degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil Engineering or a related field.
At least 2 years of relevant Quantity Surveying experience is preferred.
Contractor-side civil or infrastructure experience is an advantage.
Experience in roadworks, drainage, sewerage, water reticulation or water-tank projects is strongly preferred.
Knowledge of measurement, valuations, progress claims, variation orders, contract administration and final accounts.
Able to interpret civil, structural, infrastructure and M&E drawings.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and relevant QS or measurement software.
Strong numerical, analytical, negotiation and communication skills.
Responsible, organised and able to work independently.
Willing to travel to project sites when required.
Exposure to various civil, infrastructure and M&E projects.
