Job summary

Jaya Bintang Sdn Bhd is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to prepare tender estimates, source quotes from subcontractors and suppliers, and perform quantity take-offs. The role involves reviewing contract documents, managing interim claims and variations, and monitoring project costs to ensure spend stays within budget.

Based at Bandar Puchong Utama with potential site travel, the candidate should have a degree in QS and at least 1 year of experience, plus strong English and Bahasa Malaysia

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or higher in Quantity Surveying or related field.
• At least 1 year of working experience in the related field.
• Proficient in Bahasa Malaysia and English.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and measurement of quantities.
• Good communication and negotiation skills.
• Based at Bandar Puchong Utama with possible site travel.

Responsibilities

• Competent to complete cost estimation for tender work independently.
• Call subcontractors and suppliers for quotations and compare quotes.
• Take-off quantities and review contract documents and risk.
• Post-contract commercial management including interim claims and variations.
• Monitor project budgeting costs and cost-control of all suppliers and subcontractors.
• Handle pre- and post-contract matters and ensure timely progress claims and invoices.

Job description

• Competent to complete the Cost Estimation for the Tender Work independently, including call Sub-Contractor and Supplier for quotation, Sub-Contractor Quotation Comparison, Breakdown of Unit Rate etc.
• Responsible for taking off quantities. Review of the Instruction to Tenders and Conditions of Contract, recognize and analysis of the potential risk
• Post-Contract Commercial Management, including review of the Interim Progress Claim, Variation Order and Claim to the Client, Sub-Contractor Interim Payment Certificate, Variation Order and Claim
• Monitoring the implementation of Project Budgeting Cost,Responsible to verify, cost-control of all suppliers, sub-contractor, workers etc., inclusive project claims and expenses within the budget
• Handling pre, post contractual matters:project budget, progress claims, projected tender documentations and final accounts.
• Ensure every progress claim, certifications, invoices to clients are issued on timely basis.

Requirements:

• Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's Degree, Post Graduate Diploma, Professional Degree, Quantity Survey or equivalent.
• At least 1 year of working experience in the related field is required for this position.
• Required language(s):Bahasa Malaysia and English.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and measurement of quantities
• Good communication and negotiation skills
• To be base at Bandar Puchong Utama (Opp. Klinik Kesihatan Batu 14) May require you to travel to site if needed.
