The Executive / Fresh Graduate – Cost & Contract will support the Cost & Contract team in managing project cost, tendering, procurement, contract administration and commercial matters for construction and development projects. This role is suitable for fresh graduates or candidates with 1–2 years of relevant experience who are interested in developing their career in Quantity Surveying, Cost Management and Contract Administration.
Detail Scope of Works:
A.Main Scope of Works
- Assist in preparing cost estimates, budgets and preliminary cost plans for projects.
- Assist in reviewing Bills of Quantities (BQ), quotations and cost breakdowns.
- Monitor project costs against approved budgets.
- Assist in identifying cost variances and highlighting potential cost issues.
- Assist in preparing tender documents, schedules and tender invitations.
- Obtain and compile quotations from contractors, subcontractors and suppliers.
- Assist in tender evaluation and comparison of quotations.
- Support the preparation of tender recommendations and procurement documentation.
3.Contract Administration
- Assist in preparing and maintaining contract documentation and records.
- Support the administration of main contracts, subcontractors and supplier agreements.
- Assist in monitoring contractual requirements, payment terms and project obligations.
- Maintain proper filing and documentation of contracts and commercial correspondence.
4.Variation, Claims & Payment
- Assist in preparing and checking Variation Orders (VO), claims and related supporting documents.
- Assist in reviewing interim payment applications and payment certificates.
- Monitor variations and additional works against approved project scope.
- Support the preparation of final accounts and other commercial documentation.
5.Reporting & Coordination
- Prepare cost, tender and contract-related reports for management review.
- Coordinate with project teams, consultants, contractors, subcontractors and suppliers.
- Attend project and commercial meetings when required.
- Maintain accurate records of project costs, contracts, variations and claims.
- Perform other cost and contract-related duties as assigned by the management.
B.Job Requirements
1.Education
- Degree or Diploma in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Contract Management or a related field.
- Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
2.Experiences
- Fresh graduates or candidates with 1–2 years of relevant experience in construction, Quantity Surveying, Cost Control or Contract Administration.
- Candidates with internship experience in a QS/Cost & Contract environment will be an advantage.
- Knowledge of construction projects and contract documentation is an added advantage.
- Good numerical and analytical skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good planning, organizational and time-management skills.
- Willingness to learn and develop in the Cost & Contract field.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team.
4.Inter-personal skills
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Able to liaise professionally with contractors, consultants, suppliers and internal project teams.
- Positive attitude, responsible and proactive.
- Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
5.Certifications
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD, CostX or other QS-related software is an advantage.
- Familiarity with construction contracts, BQ, tendering and cost management is an advantage.
- Membership with BQSM/RISM or relevant professional certification is an advantage.
