Job summary

DJS Interior Sdn Bhd in Cheras, Kuala Lumpur, is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our on-site team. You will manage project costs, budgets, and commercial aspects of interior construction and fit-out projects from pre-tender to final account.

The ideal candidate holds a degree or diploma in Quantity Surveying, has 1–2 years of relevant experience, and is proficient with BIM, QS software, and Excel for cost analysis.

Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or equivalent.
• Membership or eligibility with the Royal Institution of Surveyors Malaysia (RISM) or similar professional body.
• 1–2 years of professional experience as a Quantity Surveyor in construction or interior fit-out.
• Strong knowledge of contracts, procurement, and cost management principles.
• Proficiency in quantity surveying software and building information modelling (BIM) tools.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel for cost analysis and budgeting.
• Excellent numerical and analytical skills with meticulous attention to detail.
• Strong negotiation and communication abilities to interact with project stakeholders.
• Experience in managing multiple projects and meeting tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate cost estimates, budgets, and tender documents for interior construction and renovation projects.
• Conduct detailed measurements and quantifications of materials and labour required for projects.
• Monitor and control project expenditures to ensure alignment with approved budgets.
• Manage contract valuations and prepare interim payment certificates for clients and contractors.
• Analyse and negotiate contracts with suppliers, contractors, and subcontractors to achieve competitive pricing.
• Identify and manage variations, claims, and disputes during project execution.
• Prepare final accounts and settle project finances upon completion.
• Liaise with project managers, clients, architects, and contractors to ensure smooth financial and contractual administration.
• Maintain accurate cost records and project documentation for audit and reference purposes.

About the role

DJS Interior Sdn Bhd is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic team in Cheras, Kuala Lumpur. This is a full-time position based on-site at our Cheras office. As a Quantity Surveyor, you will play a crucial role in managing project costs, budgets, and commercial aspects of our interior construction and fit-out projects. You will be responsible for ensuring cost control, accuracy in valuations, and effective contract administration throughout all project phases, from pre-tender to final account settlement.

Key responsibilities

Prepare accurate cost estimates, budgets, and tender documents for interior construction and renovation projects

What we're looking for

Familiarity with Malaysian construction standards, regulations, and industry best practices
