Job summary

KEMUNCAK PESAKA SDN BHD is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join our team on a contract basis in Kuala Lumpur. The role focuses on managing project costs, preparing estimates, and administering contracts to ensure timely delivery within budget.

Ideal candidates hold a degree or diploma in Quantity Surveying or related fields with 2–3 years of experience, and are capable of travel when required, while maintaining strong analytical and organizational skills to meet deadlines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Minimum 2-3 years of relevant working experience.
• Experience in reviewing and interpreting contractual issues with knowledge of standard forms (PWD, PAM).
• Skilled in preparing build-up rates, take-off quantities, and detailed cost analysis.
• Willing to travel and able to work beyond normal office hours when required.
• Good analytical, organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Prepare cost estimates, Bills of Quantities (BQ), tender documents, and cost plans.
• Review tender documents, specifications, and drawings for cost and contractual implications.
• Evaluate quotations and negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors for competitive pricing.
• Prepare and administer subcontract agreements and other contract documents.
• Monitor project costs, budgets, and expenditures for cost control.
• Prepare progress claims, payment certificates, variation orders, and final accounts.
• Assess and evaluate subcontractors' claims and recommend payments.
• Monitor project progress and identify potential cost risks or overruns.
• Prepare cost reports, cash flow forecasts, and commercial reports for management.
• Liaise with clients, consultants, contractors, suppliers, and authorities on commercial matters.
• Ensure compliance with contractual terms, policies, and statutory requirements.
• Maintain documentation related to project costs and contracts.
• Assist in contract administration, dispute resolution, and claims management.
