About the role

We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our team in Cheras, Kuala Lumpur. As a Quantity Surveyor, you will play a crucial role in managing project costs, budgets, and financial performance throughout the construction lifecycle. This position is essential to ensuring that our projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality. You will work closely with project managers, contractors, and clients to provide accurate cost estimates, manage variations, and maintain financial control across all aspects of construction projects.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare accurate cost estimates, bills of quantities, and tender documentation for construction projects
• Monitor project expenditure and maintain cost control throughout all project phases
• Analyse and negotiate contract variations, change orders, and claims with contractors and stakeholders
• Conduct regular site inspections to verify work quality and adherence to specifications
• Prepare financial reports, forecasts, and cost analyses for project managers and clients
• Manage subcontractor quotations and procurement processes to ensure competitive pricing
• Review and process contractor invoices and payment claims for accuracy and compliance
• Liaise with architects, engineers, and other consultants to clarify specifications and resolve cost-related issues
• Maintain comprehensive project documentation and cost records in accordance with professional standards
• Provide professional advice on cost management and value engineering opportunities

What we're looking for

• Professional qualification in Quantity Surveying or related discipline from a recognised institution
• Membership or eligibility for membership with a professional surveying body such as RICS, AIQS, or equivalent
• Minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience in quantity surveying within the construction industry
• Proficiency in cost estimation software, Building Information Modelling (BIM) tools, and Microsoft Office applications
• Strong knowledge of Malaysian construction practices, building codes, and contractual frameworks
• Excellent numerical and analytical skills with meticulous attention to detail
