About the role
We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join Blue print properties sdn bhd in Kamunting, Perak. This is a full-time position that plays a critical role in our construction projects, ensuring cost efficiency, quality standards, and timely project delivery. As a Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for managing project budgets, valuations, and contractual matters, making you integral to the financial success and strategic planning of our construction endeavours.
What you'll be doing
- Preparing detailed cost estimates and budgets for construction projects from design stage through to completion
- Conducting quantity take-offs and material quantification from architectural and engineering drawings
- Managing project budgets and monitoring expenditure against allocated funds
- Preparing tender documents and bills of quantities for competitive bidding
- Evaluating tender submissions and providing recommendations for contractor selection
- Administering contracts and managing variations, claims, and change orders
- Conducting site inspections and monitoring project progress to ensure compliance with specifications
- Preparing interim valuations and payment certificates for contractors
- Maintaining detailed project records and documentation for audit and legal purposes
- Liaising with architects, engineers, contractors, and clients to resolve cost-related issues
- Providing financial forecasting and cost reporting to project management and senior leadership
What we're looking for
- Degree qualification in Quantity Surveying or related construction discipline from a recognised institution
- Minimum 3-5 years of proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry
- Strong proficiency in cost estimation software and building information modelling (BIM) tools
- Comprehensive knowledge of construction contracts, procurement procedures, and contractual law
- Excellent analytical and mathematical skills with meticulous attention to detail
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Experience with Malaysian construction standards, building regulations, and industry practices is highly desirable
