Job summary

NAI COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGY (MALAYSIA) SDN. BHD. is offering a Quality Engineering (QA) Intern/Student position in Penang for 3–6 months.

You will assist in QA activities, NPI, production line monitoring, and FAIR preparation, supporting QA/QC processes and documentation across departments. Responsibilities include inspecting raw materials to finished products, identifying defects, maintaining records, and learning QA tools and inspection methods.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Engineering, Quality Management, Manufacturing, Electronics, or a related field.
• Basic knowledge of quality concepts and manufacturing processes.
• Basic understanding of QA/QC tools and inspection methods.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good attention to detail and accuracy.
• Responsible, positive working attitude, and a good team player.
• Able to read and follow work instructions in Chinese/English.
• Wire harness and cable assembly background is an added advantage.

Responsibilities

• Assist in QA NPI activities, initial production line monitoring, and FAIR (First Article Inspection Report) preparation.
• Support quality checks during new product introduction and production start-up activities.
• Perform inspection activities for raw materials, work-in-progress (WIP), packaging materials, and finished products according to quality requirements.
• Assist in identifying product defects, abnormalities, and deviations.
• Communicate product abnormalities or quality issues promptly to the QA team for corrective action.
• Learn and apply basic quality inspection methods and QA/QC tools.
• Ensure inspection data, quality records, and related documentation are updated accurately and timely.
• Assist in maintaining quality records and preparing basic quality reports.
• Support QA team in data collection and basic analysis for quality improvement activities.
• Support calibration monitoring and verification of test equipment condition.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the QA workstation in compliance with 5S standards.
• Follow all company safety rules and required procedures when performing inspection activities.
• Work closely with QA Engineers, Quality Inspectors, Production, and other departments to understand quality requirements and manufacturing processes.
• Develop practical knowledge of quality control, inspection techniques, and manufacturing processes.
• Perform other duties and tasks assigned by the direct supervisor or management from time to time.
