Job summary

HICOM-Teck See Manufacturing Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. is seeking a Quality Engineer to lead APQP activities from project kick-off to SOP and drive quality milestones across NPD programs.

You will coordinate problem-solving, perform product/process verification, and prepare PPAP documentation while upholding ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 standards. Travel within Malaysia and abroad may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical/manufacturing/automotive engineering or equivalent.
• 1–2 years manufacturing experience preferred.
• Experience in QA/QC and New Product Development (NPD).
• Knowledge of ISO 9001 and IATF 16949; CSRs beneficial.
• Familiar with IATF 16949 Core Tools: APQP, PPAP, FMEA, Control Plan, SPC, MSA.
• Proficient with the 7 QC Tools and quality-improvement methods.
• Proficient with MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Able to perform dimensional and visual inspections using basic gauges.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills; able to interact with customers, suppliers, and internal departments.
• Willing to travel within Malaysia and overseas when required.

Job description

1. Participate in Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) activities from project kick-off through to Start of Production (SOP).
2. Track and monitor project quality milestones, communicate progress, and drive corrective actions to ensure project objectives are achieved.
3. Coordinate problem-solving activities and implement corrective actions for quality issues arising during New Product Development (NPD).
4. Perform product and process verification and validation activities, analyze test results, and identify potential quality risks to ensure product compliance.
5. Assist in developing inspection jig concepts and conducting verification activities for new product development projects.
6. Responsible for the compilation, preparation, and timely submission of Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) documentation.
7. Establish quality standards, quality documentation, and customer-approved reference samples to support new product development and production readiness.

Requirements

1. Possess a minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Material Science, Quality Engineering, Science Engineering, or an equivalent qualification.
2. Preferably 1–2 years of working experience in a manufacturing environment.
3. Candidates with experience in Quality Assurance (QA), Quality Control (QC), New Product
4. Good knowledge of ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 Quality Management Systems; familiarity with Automotive Customer Specific Requirements (CSRs) will be an added advantage.
5. Familiar with IATF 16949 Core Tools, including APQP, PPAP, FMEA, Control Plan, SPC, and MSA.
6. Well-versed in the application of 7 QC Tools and quality improvement methodologies for problem-solving and process control.
7. Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
8. Able to perform dimensional and visual inspections using basic measuring instruments and gauges.
9. Possess good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with customers, suppliers, and internal departments.
10. Willing and able to travel within Malaysia and overseas when required for business-related activities.
