Job summary

Qualifications

• Minimum 5-7 years of QA/QC experience in manufacturing.
• Experience in glass, packaging, cosmetics or beauty industry desirable.
• Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 and ISO 14001.
• Proficient in SPC, Six Sigma, RCA and FMEA.
• Experience with quality management software and data analysis tools.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Quality Manager to join Luminous Beauty Glass Sdn Bhd in Kulim, Kedah. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in ensuring the highest standards of product quality, compliance, and operational excellence across our manufacturing operations. As Quality Manager, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing quality assurance and control systems that safeguard our reputation and meet the stringent requirements of the beauty glass industry. This position is integral to our commitment to delivering exceptional products to our customers whilst maintaining regulatory compliance and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive quality assurance and quality control systems and procedures across all manufacturing processes
• Establish and monitor quality standards, specifications, and acceptance criteria for raw materials, in-process materials, and finished products
• Conduct regular inspections, testing, and audits to ensure products meet or exceed quality requirements and industry standards
• Analyse quality data, identify trends, and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to address non-conformances
• Lead root cause analysis investigations and develop solutions to minimise defects and improve product consistency
• Manage quality documentation, records, and traceability systems to ensure full compliance with regulatory requirements
• Supervise and train quality assurance and quality control staff, fostering a culture of quality awareness throughout the organisation
• Liaise with production, procurement, and customer service teams to address quality concerns and implement improvements
• Conduct supplier audits and manage supplier quality performance to ensure incoming material standards
• Prepare quality reports, metrics, and performance dashboards for senior management review
• Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, certifications, and regulatory requirements
• Champion continuous improvement initiatives and lead kaizen or lean projects to enhance operational efficiency

What we're looking for

• A recognised qualification in Quality Assurance, Quality Management, Engineering, or a related discipline
• Minimum 5-7 years of professional experience in quality assurance and quality control within a manufacturing environment
• Proven experience in the glass, packaging, cosmetics, or beauty industry is highly desirable
• Strong knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and other relevant quality management systems and standards
• Proficiency in quality control tools and methodologies such as Statistical Process Control (SPC), Six Sigma, root cause analysis, and FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis)
• Experience with quality management software and data analysis tools
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a detail-oriented approach
• Strong leadership and team management abilities with experience supervising quality personnel
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present findings to all levels of the organisation
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance standards relevant to manufacturing and export operations
• Fluency in English; knowledge of Malay is advantageous
