We are seeking a highly motivated, results-oriented, and experienced Quality Assurance Manager to join our dynamic and fast-growing manufacturing organization located in Penang, Malaysia. As a crucial leadership figure within the operations team, the successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing, maintaining, and continually enhancing the company's Quality Management System (QMS) across all manufacturing processes and departments. This position works directly under the guidance of and reports to the Senior Manager-who currently manages both the Quality Control (QC) and broader Quality Assurance/Operations divisions- offering an excellent environment for collaborative strategic planning, professional mentorship, and high-impact operational oversight.
In this position, you will be heading a dedicated and capable team of 6 members, driving a culture of continuous improvement, zero-defect mindset, and total quality excellence throughout the facility. You will serve as the primary quality champion responsible for aligning our production quality with international standards, specifically ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 requirements, while maintaining strict adherence to customer expectations and statutory regulations. The Quality Assurance Manager plays a central cross-functional role, bridging technical expertise, operational processes, and customer relations to ensure overall product excellence and operational efficiency.
The ideal candidate possesses a solid technical background in chemistry, polymer science, or materials engineering, combined with extensive hands-on leadership experience in an automated or advanced manufacturing environment. You will lead failure analysis tasks, root cause investigations using standard problem-solving frameworks like 8D methodology, manage non-conformance issues, and oversee all internal, external, and client certification audits. Beyond operational compliance, this role demands proactive leadership in driving lean methodologies, including 5S, Kaizen, Zero Defect (ZD), and Total Quality Management (TQM) initiatives.
If you are a certified lead auditor with robust team management skills, deep familiarity with Automotive Core Tools (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, MSA), and a passion for promoting quality culture across cross-functional teams, this is a rewarding career opportunity to step into a key leadership role within an established leader in the chemical and material manufacturing industry.
