Job summary

Private Advertiser in Malaysia seeks an experienced Quality Manager to lead the Quality Management, QA, QC & Testing teams across production. You will troubleshoot quality issues, manage audits, and drive corrective actions to meet customer and certification requirements.

Responsibilities include overseeing supplier quality, APQP activities with R&D, and continuous quality improvements; strong leadership, planning, and communication skills are essential to ensure product quality and compliance

Qualifications

  • Holds a degree in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering with at least 6 years in quality management.
  • Experience leading QA, QC & Testing teams and coordinating with internal departments.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001, IAFT 16949, AS 9100 and related quality standards.
  • Skilled in supplier quality assurance and internal audits.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Quality Management, QA, QC & Testing teams and resolve quality issues.
  • Oversee product audits, measurements, lab testing and rework cases.
  • Supervise and monitor corrective action implementation.
  • Drive continuous quality improvement programs and KPIs.
  • Evaluate new vendors for capability to meet requirements.
  • Coordinate APQP phases with R&D and localization of parts.

Job description

  • To ensure company products meet customer expectations, needs and quality standard consistently.
  • Develop quality-process links with customers inline with the Quality Management system (including: IAFT 16949, ISO 9001, AS 9100) Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Controls Plans, Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) and Supplier Quality Assurance (SQA) processes and oversee continued compliance and embedding across the business
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the Quality Management, comprising of Quality Assurance, Quality Control & Testing team. Work closely with internal to troubleshoot quality issues.
  • Lead the teams to quality standards of the products produced including product audit, product measurement, lab testing and re- work cases.
  • Supervise and monitor the implementation of the corrective action.
  • Implement continuous quality system improvement program. Review and identify areas for improvement.
  • Oversee vendor performance including improvement of quality of parts supplied. Conduct vendor assessment to ensure the vendors’ products consistently meet the quality standards required.
  • Evaluate new vendors for their capability to supply products that fulfilled to requirements
  • Work closely with R&D on the testing activities especially in project development APQP phases & any localization of child parts. Ensure all APQP requirements are met.
  • Facilitate any Process Change Plan Notification and seek approval from the customer on the process change. This includes testing activities as well.
  • Address all customer complaints on quality issues promptly
  • Maintain the accredited Quality Management Systems & Laboratory Certification to ensure continuous application of the system and processes.
  • Supervise the QA & Testing team and further develop their required competencies
  • Understand the Management Review agenda and the intent of each item and preparing the management review minute
  • Internal auditing skill and knowledge
  • Ensure that all in-house systems and procedures are in place & updated to satisfy all customer & external certification bodies requirements and audits.
  • Detection of weakness and noncompliance
  • Develop, implement and manage key performance indicators (KPIs) for each area of responsibility
  • Set department objectives/KPIs, competencies and review and assess ongoing performance of direct reports
  • Any tasks assign by the supervisor & top management
