Job summary

Ascentec Engineering Malaysia in Batu Kawan, Penang, is seeking a QC Inspector to perform dimensional measurements and quality inspection on in-process and finished parts. You will review drawings per ASME Y14.5M and ensure conformance with inspection checklists, releasing parts promptly to prevent line downtime.

Applicants should be proficient with CMM and other precision gauges, maintain Cp/Cpk data, and assist in training new inspectors while upholding 5S and FAIR requirements in the factory.

Qualifications

• Experience in dimensional measurement and QC inspection.
• Ability to interpret part drawings and ASME Y14.5M standards.
• Familiarity with SPC Cp/Cpk data and reporting.
• Proactive handling of non-conformances and NCRs.

Responsibilities

• Perform dimensional measurement and quality inspection per drawings and checklist.
• Operate precision measuring instruments (CMM, VMM, profilometer, height gauges, micrometers).
• Review drawings per ASME Y14.5M and verify non-conformances; issue NCRs.
• Record, trend, and maintain Cp/Cpk data using SPC software.
• Ensure timely release of inspected parts to avoid line downtime.
• Train new inspectors on inspection methods and equipment.
• Assist in QC tasks and maintain inspection reports.
• Adhere to 5S and FAIR requirements at the workplace.

Job description

To perform dimensional measurement and quality inspection for in-process, finished, assembled parts and FA parts according to part drawings, specifications and inspection checklist.

To use variety of precision measuring instruments such as CMM, VMM, profilometer, indicators, height gauges, micro-meters and any other inspection gauges. Hands on handling CMM Zeiss Calypso is an added advantage.

To perform in-process inspection, detailed visual inspection, receiving inspection, pre/post anodize parts, pre/post assembly parts and final inspection. Ensuring no cosmetic escape to next process.

To review and interpret drawings (per ASME Y14.5M) and understanding customer cosmetic specification.

To review and verify all non-conformance items and issuing Non-Conformance Report when found during the inspection. Providing effective inspection findings.

To ensure all parts are inspected promptly and released in a timely manner to avoid any line down-time.

To comply and maintain QC inspection reports appropriately.

Record, trend, and maintain Cp/Cpk data using SPC software.

Understanding customer FAIR requirements and always ensuring 5S at workplace.

To perform any other QC tasks required.

To train other/new inspectors related to inspection methods and equipment.

Assist in any tasks as instructed by your superior and/or management of AESB from time to time
