Job summary

Malaysian Die-Casting Industries seeks a Quality Lead to orchestrate quality planning for new product introductions, ensuring robust processes and validated systems before production begins. • Lead cross-functional teams using 8D and 5-Why for permanent issue closure.
• Analyze quality data (yield, PPM, Cp/Cpk) and drive preventive actions to improve capability.
• Plan and lead internal quality audits to ISO 9001:2015 and IATF 16949 compliance.
• Develop and refine quality standards; lead Kaizen and Lean initiatives to reduce defects.
• Own strategic quality improvement projects delivering cost of quality reduction and yield gains.
• Perform other quality improvement tasks as directed by superior.

Lead quality planning for new product introductions (NPI), ensuring robust process controls and quality systems are established and validated before production begins. Own customer quality issues end-to-end by leading thorough investigations, implementing permanent corrective actions, and restoring customer confidence through timely, transparent, and effective communication. Provide technical quality leadership to production teams by proactively identifying opportunities to prevent defects before they occur, rather than reacting to non-conformances after they happen.

Key responsibilities

• Champion the implementation and continuous improvement of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), Process Failure Mode Effects Analysis (PFMEA), Control Plans, Statistical Process Control (SPC), and Measurement System Analysis (MSA) to achieve world-class manufacturing standards
• Drive root cause investigations and lead cross-functional teams to eliminate recurring quality issues using structured 8D (Eight Disciplines) and 5-Why methodologies, ensuring permanent systemic closure
• Analyze quality performance data (e.g., yield, PPM, capability indices) to identify emerging risks, and implement preventive actions that improve process capability, increase overall yield, and enhance customer satisfaction
• Plan and lead internal quality audits (process and system) to ensure strict compliance with ISO 9001:2015 and IATF 16949 standards, while actively driving continuous improvement initiatives across the organisation
• Develop and refine quality standards and inspection methods; evaluate and recommend improved measurement technologies and gauging; lead Kaizen and Lean initiatives to systematically reduce defects and eliminate process waste
• Take full ownership of strategic quality improvement projects that deliver measurable business results, such as cost of quality reduction, first-pass yield improvement, and supply chain quality enhancements
