Job summary

The role reports to the Quality Manager and involves audits, NCR handling, APQP/PPAP documentation, and collaboration with internal teams; a Diploma or Bachelor’s in Mechanical, Chemical or Industrial Engineering with 2–3 years' experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Analytical, detail-oriented QA engineer with 2–3 years of experience in manufacturing.
• Familiar with ISO 9001 or IATF 16949 standards and core tools.
• Proven track record in 8D, 5-Why, and root-cause analysis.

Responsibilities

• Support quality department objectives daily under the Quality Manager.
• Interact with suppliers, customers, and internal teams on quality issues.
• Conduct inspections, audits, and maintain records per work instructions.
• Lead Corrective Actions (CARs) and root-cause investigations.

Demand Options Sdn Bhd is a growing technology company based in Malaysia, Johor Bahru , Job Vacancy: Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer Salary Range: RM 3,500 – RM 5,000 / month (Commensurate with experience) Job Type: Full-Time Industry: Manufacturing / Automotive Component ProductionJob OverviewWe are seeking an analytical, detail-oriented QA Engineer to drive our quality control systems and maintain exceptional product standards. You will work closely with the Quality Manager, manage supplier relationships, resolve non-conformances, and lead corrective actions using core quality tools. Key ResponsibilitiesDepartmental Support: Assist the Quality Manager in the daily management and execution of quality department objectives.

Stakeholder Liaison: Act as the core point of contact for suppliers, customers, and internal teams regarding all quality issues. Inspections & Audits: Conduct formal inspections, keep meticulous records according to work instructions, and coordinate customer environmental/quality audits. Corrective Action & Root Cause: Lead 8D investigations, issue CARs (Corrective Action Requests) to suppliers, and execute root cause analysis for customer complaints.

NCR Management: Handle Non-Conformance Reports, manage the disposition of defective materials, and accurately track the Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ). Escalation & Resolution: Facilitate the resolution and internal escalation of lingering quality issues across current projects and active suppliers.

APQP & PPAP Documentation: Support core manufacturing quality frameworks including Control Plans, Process Capability Studies, GR&R, FMEA, and PPAP submissions. Operational Flexibility: Execute additional operational, technical, or documented tasks as required by management.

Requirements & QualificationsEducation: Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Industrial Engineering, or related technical disciplines.

Experience: Minimum 2–3 years of active experience as a QA/QC Engineer in a manufacturing environment (Automotive background is highly valued). Technical Skills: Familiarity with ISO 9001 or IATF 16949 quality standards and core tools (FMEA, PPAP, SPC). Problem-Solving: Proven track record running 8D, 5-Why, and Fishbone Analysis.

Language: Good command of written and spoken English and Bahasa Malaysia to communicate with international customers and local suppliers.
