Qualifications

• A degree in Quality Assurance, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering or related discipline.
• ASQ CQE or Six Sigma Black Belt highly desirable.
• Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in QA and QC with at least 5 years in leadership in manufacturing.
• Proven expertise in ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and other QA systems.
• Strong knowledge of lean, Six Sigma, SPC and root cause analysis techniques.
• Experience in electronics or manufacturing supply chain quality.

• Reports progress to customers and maintains contact with customers to ensure needs are met.

• Confers with engineering about quality assurance of new products.
• Reviews technical publications to stay abreast of developments in industry.
• Implement HR strategies to recruit and retain a qualified workforce.
• Have experience in PCBA or Assembly background

As Quality Director, you will establish and maintain the highest standards of quality throughout our manufacturing processes, ensure compliance with international quality standards, and drive continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen our competitive position in the market. This role will be based at Prai, Penang.

Key responsibilities

Surveys and evaluates future and current vendors.

Prepares and implements QA Policies and Procedures.

Reviews discrepancy reports and implements corrective actions.

Reports progress to customers as required. Maintains contact with customers to ensure their business needs are met or exceeded.

Conducts presentations to staff as required.

Establishes QA objectives and creates plan of action.

Cooperates with top management personnel in formulating and establishing company policies, operating procedures and goals.

Evaluates content of reports from product assurance program department heads and confers with top management in formulating fiscal budget for product assurance program.

Confers with engineering about quality assurance of new products designed and manufactured.

Reviews technical publications, articles and abstract to stay abreast of technical developments in industry.

Implement appropriate HR strategies and actions to recruit and retain a qualified and motivated workforce.

Have experience in PCBA or Assembly background

What we're looking for

A degree in Quality Assurance, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering or a related discipline; professional certifications such as ASQ CQE (Certified Quality Engineer) or Six Sigma Black Belt are highly desirable

Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in quality assurance and control, with at least 5 years in a leadership or managerial capacity within a manufacturing environment

Proven expertise in establishing and maintaining ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and other relevant quality management systems

Strong knowledge of quality methodologies including lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, statistical process control (SPC) and root cause analysis techniques

Excellent understanding of manufacturing processes, supply chain quality and regulatory compliance requirements relevant to the electronics or manufacturing sector

Demonstrated ability to lead, develop and motivate cross-functional teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively at all organisational levels

Experience with quality management systems software and data analysis tools

Ability to manage multiple priorities, drive change initiatives and deliver results under pressure
