Job summary

Leong Hup International Berhad is seeking a Quality Assurance Manager for its poultry dressing plant in Central Luzon, Philippines. Lead QA from live receiving through chilling, packing, ensuring food safety and product quality.

Responsibilities include implementing HACCP, FSSC 22000, GMP systems; ensuring NMIS compliance; managing internal/external audits; driving CAPA and root-cause analysis; training QA staff and liaising with regulators and production teams to uphold high standards.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Food Technology, Food Science, Veterinary Medicine, Microbiology, or related field.
Minimum 10 years in Quality Assurance with ≥3 years in a managerial role in poultry dressing/processing or meat manufacturing.
Experience with HACCP and FSSC 22000 certification processes; NMIS or similar regulatory systems knowledge.

Responsibilities

Lead QA function for poultry dressing plant operations from receiving to packing.
Develop and maintain HACCP, FSSC 22000 and GMP systems and documentation.
Ensure NMIS regulatory compliance and coordinate audits and inspections.
Monitor CCPs on the dressing line and drive CAPA for deviations.
Oversee microbiological and chemical testing and liaise with labs.
Lead audits, close findings, investigate non-conformances, and drive improvements.
Train and supervise QA staff and inspectors; build quality culture on the floor.
Coordinate with regulators and internal departments on quality matters.
Maintain QA policies, SOPs, and records; support new product development from a quality view.
Provide regular quality performance reporting to the CEO.

Quality Assurance Manager- Dressing Plant (Based in Central Luzon, Philippines)

Lead and oversee the Quality Assurance function for poultry dressing plant operations, ensuring compliance with food safety and quality standards from live receiving through chilling, cut-up, and packing.
Develop, implement, and maintain HACCP, FSSC 22000, and GMP systems and documentation specific to dressing plant processes.
Ensure compliance with NMIS (National Meat Inspection Service) regulatory requirements for poultry dressing plants; serve as primary liaison during NMIS inspections and audits.
Monitor critical control points across the dressing line (scalding, defeathering, evisceration, chilling, deboning/cut-up) and drive corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) for deviations.
Oversee microbiological and physical/chemical quality testing (e.g., pathogen monitoring, residue checks) and coordinate with laboratories.
Lead internal and external audits (customer, regulatory, and certification body audits) and manage timely closure of findings.
Investigate quality incidents, customer complaints, and non-conformances on the dressing line; drive root cause analysis and continuous improvement.
Train and supervise QA staff and inspectors, and build quality/food safety awareness among dressing plant production teams.
Liaise with regulatory bodies (NMIS, FDA, LGU) and internal departments (Production, Farm, R&D, Procurement) on quality-related matters.
Maintain and update QA policies, SOPs, and records to ensure audit readiness at all times.
Support new product development, process changes, and line modifications from a quality/food safety standpoint.
Provide regular quality performance and compliance reporting directly to the CEO.

What We're Looking For

Education Background

Bachelor's degree in Food Technology, Food Science, Veterinary Medicine, Microbiology, or a related field.

Experience

At least 10 years of experience in Quality Assurance, with at least 3 years in a managerial capacity, specifically in poultry dressing/processing or meat manufacturing operations.

Prior experience with HACCP/FSSC 22000 certification processes is highly preferred; familiarity with NMIS or equivalent national poultry/meat inspection regulatory systems is an advantage.

Strong knowledge of HACCP, FSSC 22000, GMP, and other food safety management systems applicable to poultry dressing operations.
Working knowledge of dressing line processes and associated food safety/quality risk points.
Strong leadership and team management skills, including managing QA inspectors on a production floor.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and root-cause investigation abilities.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, for liaising with regulators, auditors, and internal stakeholders.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Microsoft 365 tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint, Teams).
High attention to detail and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced production environment.
Willing to relocate to Central Luzon, Philippines; open to candidates requiring work visa/permit sponsorship.
