Job summary

Newbillion Precision Metal Sdn Bhd is seeking a Quality Assurance Engineer to lead the QA department at our Batu Kawan, Penang facility. You will oversee QA processes, drive CAPA actions, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure product quality from development through production.

The ideal candidate holds an engineering degree, has 1–3 years of manufacturing QA experience, and is familiar with ISO/IATF quality systems.

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering or equivalent.
• Strong knowledge of QA methodologies and problem-solving.
• Experience with ISO 9001/IATF 16949 and related quality systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Organize and manage QA department to provide consistent services for internal and external customers.
• Monitor quality KPIs including scrap, rework, and RTV levels.
• Plan and manage Quality Planning across all Q-Gates.

Join Newbillion Precision Metal Sdn Bhd as a Quality Assurance Engineer (QA) and play a key role in ensuring the high quality and safety of our precision metal products. This full-time position is based in our modern manufacturing facility in Batu Kawan, Penang.

What you'll be doing

Organize and manage Quality Assurance (QA) department to provide optimal services for internal and external customers consistently through planning and controlling of work.

Monitor and report on quality-related key performance indicators including scrap monitoring, rework levels and RTV levels

Plan, create and manage the overall Quality Planning strategy across all Q-Gates.

Collaborate with the New Product Introduction team to ensure consistent project execution/launch

Conducts periodic team meetings to ensure alignment with QA process and address issues with QA tools

To conduct quality training and monitoring for the Q-Gate QC/QA Competency Level & Performance.

Liaise with affiliate and customer regarding customer complaints, provide appropriate solutions and alternatives within the time limits; follow up to ensure resolution and to perform replacements if required.

To supervise and plan for improvement a group of the above mentioned subordinates as to ensure smooth operation of QC section

Responsible to initiate and participate in continual improvement activities to enhance product quality performance, process or quality system improvements.

Adhere to organizational requirements on quality management, health and safety, code of conduct, legal stipulations, environmental, 5S policies and general duty of care

Applies sound, systematic problem-solving methodologies in identifying root cause, corrective action(s) and monitoring plan(s) for resolution of CAPA and NC issues. Investigate product quality in order to make improvements to achieve better customer satisfaction

Ability to communicate between various organizations and work with multi-functional teams Participate in cross-functional teams (CFT) in the development of new products (APQP) or changes related to current products in meeting customer requirements

Data driven in decision making and status reporting

To maintain, monitor, and analyze related process KPIs for continual improvement and provide inputs for the Management Review including Goals & Objectives review.

Responsible for reporting all deficiencies received from suppliers or during the productions that had been highlighted properly by IQC/IPQC and follow up action and status of the deficiency.

Perform other Quality tasks as and when needed or any other duties as assigned

Authority

To review non-conformance at the customer end and Authorize the RMA for the field returns.

Conduct and lead reviews with CAPA owners to drive completion of investigations, root-cause analyses, impact analyses, and closure of events Prepare the deviation/waiver report that is required to perform the conditional control shipment to customer.

Monitoring of the QA Resource/manpower arrangement required for QA Buy Off Activity

What we're looking for

Candidate must possess at least Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Material, Mechatronics, Electrical & Electronics),

Minimum 1-3 years of manufacturing experience within the space of Quality/Manufacturing/Product/Process Development Experience in international quality standards such as ISO 9001 (IATF 16949 & ISO 13485 would be an advantage)

Strong analytical and in-depth understanding in QA methodologies, QC tools and processes and has the ability to prioritize and execute CAPAs (problem-solving skills) effectively.

High degree of interpersonal skills, communications skills and able to work both independently and with cross-functional teams.

Strong oral and written communication skills, especially as concerns expressing written instructions Good knowledge in 5 core tool manual - APQP, PPAP, FMEA,MSA and SPC & 8D problem solving
