Job summary

Jora Malaysia is seeking a Quality Assurance professional to liaise with SQE, R&D, and Manufacturing to set inspection standards and manage OQA and incoming inspections. The role supports new product introductions, calibration, and continuous quality improvements while training QA inspectors and ensuring traceability of metrology equipment.

Candidate should hold a Diploma or Degree in Engineering and read engineering drawings; knowledge of SPC, MSA, FMEA, GD&T, and 8D RCA is advantageous in a

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Engineering is required.
• Able to work independently in a fast-moving environment.
• Knowledge of Fab parts and metrology equipment is preferred.
• Experience with SPC, MSA, FMEA, 7 QC Tools, 8D, RCA, and GD&T is advantageous.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings is preferred.
• Knowledge of electrical equipment/CNC machining & sheet metal is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Liaise with SQE, R&D, and Manufacturing to establish outgoing inspection standards.
• Assist with new product introductions and support pre-production trials.
• Manage OQA operations to ensure inspection standards and equipment maintenance.
• Oversee incoming inspections to prevent shipment delays due to inspection/disposition issues.
• Provide training to QA inspectors on quality control processes.
• Conduct sampling inspections and select inspection tools based on drawings.
• Maintain Methodology Equipment Master List and unique item IDs.
• Ensure traceability of metrology equipment and calibration providers.

To liaisewith customers' Supplier Quality Engineers (SQE), Research & Development (R&D) engineers, and Manufacturing engineers to establish outgoing inspection standards and criteria for fabricated parts.

To assist with new product introduction, support and manage pre-production trial runs and first off sample approvals.

To manage Outgoing Quality Assurance (OQA) operations. ensuring adherence to inspection standards, criteria, and optimal usage and maintenance of metrology equipment.

To manage incoming inspection activities to prevent shipment delays caused by inspection or disposition issues.

To provide training to QA inspectors on quality control processes and best practices.

To conduct sampling inspections and select appropriate tools for inspection based on engineering drawings.

To initiate, manage, and update the Methodology Equipment Master List, assigning unique identification numbers to each item.

To ensure traceability for each piece of metrology equipment through controlled numbering or equivalent systems.

To manage and maintain a list of approved Calibration Service Providers for calibration tasks.

To drive continuous quality improvement efforts to meet or exceed customer quality assurance standards.

To collaborate with the Engineering department to establish and implement effective quality control plans and systems.

To review engineering drawings to ensure operational capability aligns with specified requirements.

To support corporate initiatives and assigned projects to enhance overall quality performance.

To perform any other duties as assigned by supervisors or management as needed.

Job Requirements :

Candidates must possess at least a Diploma or Degree in Engineering field or an equivalent qualification.

Able to work independently & under fast moving environment.

Possess some technical knowledge of Fab parts and also metrology equipment.

Possessing knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC), Measurement System Analysis (MSA), Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), the 7 QC Tools, 8D, Root Cause Analysis, and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) is an added advantage.

Preferably with the capability to read and interpret engineering drawing.

Possess technical knowledge of electrical equipment/ CNC machining & Sheet Metal.
