Job summary

Qualifications

• Experience as QA Officer or in quality control within manufacturing/plastics.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001 and IATF 16949:2016.
• Ability to read specifications and perform precise inspections.
• Proficiency with quality control equipment and measurement tools.

Responsibilities

• Conduct incoming material inspections to verify raw materials meet specifications.
• Perform in-process quality checks to identify defects early.
• Carry out final product inspections to ensure compliance with standards and specs.
• Maintain detailed quality records, test reports, and documentation.
• Investigate non-conformances and recommend corrective actions.

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented QA Officer to join the quality assurance team at Bangi Plastics Sdn Bhd. This is a full-time position based in Nilai, Negeri Sembilan. As QA Officer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that all products meet our stringent quality standards and regulatory requirements. You will be responsible for implementing quality control procedures, conducting inspections, and maintaining comprehensive documentation to support our commitment to excellence in manufacturing. This position is fundamental to safeguarding our reputation and ensuring customer satisfaction across all our operations.

Key responsibilities

Conduct incoming material inspections and verify that all raw materials meet specification requirements before production begins

Perform in-process quality checks at various stages of the manufacturing process to identify and address defects early

Carry out final product inspections to ensure finished goods comply with quality standards and customer specifications

Maintain detailed quality control records, test reports, and documentation in accordance with company procedures and regulatory requirements

Investigate quality issues and non-conformances, identifying root causes and recommending corrective actions

Collaborate with production and engineering teams to implement process improvements and preventive measures

Operate and maintain quality control equipment, including calibration and preventive maintenance schedules

Prepare quality reports and metrics for management review and continuous improvement initiatives

Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, regulations, and ISO quality management systems

Train and guide production staff on quality requirements and inspection procedures

What we're looking for

Diploma or degree in Quality Assurance, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field

Proven experience working as a QA Officer or in a quality control role within the manufacturing or plastics industry

Strong knowledge of quality control procedures, testing methods, and inspection techniques

Proficiency in using quality control equipment and measurement tools (such as calipers, gauges, and testing instruments)

Excellent attention to detail and the ability to identify defects and inconsistencies

Solid understanding of ISO 9001 and IATF 16949:2016 other relevant quality management systems

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify root causes and implement solutions

Proficiency in data recording and report writing

Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams

Physical capability to perform inspections and stand for extended periods

Familiarity with plastic manufacturing processes and materials (preferred)

Experience with statistical process control and quality metrics (preferred)
