Job summary

Jora Malaysia is seeking a quality technician to perform critical inspections and audits in a heavy machinery manufacturing setting.

You will support ISO 9001 quality management, investigate issues, and maintain detailed logs. Proficiency with measurement tools such as gauges and 3D scanners is essential, with a focus on process improvement and supplier collaboration.

Qualifications

• 3+ years' experience as quality technician in heavy machinery assembly or manufacturing.
• Experience using measurement tools such as pressure gauges, dial gauges, 3D scanners, torque wrenches.
• Background in quality or engineering, ideally with knowledge of automotive products or heavy machinery manufacturing processes.
• Experienced in internal ISO 9001 audits and quality containment actions (8D).
• Familiar with SPC, Control Plan, FMEA, and MSA.
• Battery technology background is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Conduct incoming inspections according to product specifications.
• Perform final inspections prior to machine delivery.
• Prepare team for product audits and execute sampling plans.
• Investigate customer complaints and identify root causes with production.
• Document inspection/test results; maintain logs and reports.
• Oversee supplier reclamation and coordinate corrective actions with SQE.
• Manage calibration tasks including PR/PO creation and vendor arrangements.
• Quarantine defective or non-conforming parts to prevent misuse.
• Update Quality Management documents and procedures; support ISO 9001.

In this position you are primarily responsible to perform necessary quality inspection e.g., incoming inspection, final assembly process & conduct product audit. Assisting quality manager in daily quality activity.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct incoming inspections in accordance with product specifications.
• Perform final and necessary inspections prior to machine delivery.
• Prepare team members for product audits and execute based on sampling plans.
• Investigate customer complaints & collaborate with production to identify root causes.
• Document inspection and test results; maintain detailed logs and reports.
• Manage supplier reclamation processes and coordinate corrective actions with SQE.
• Oversee calibration management tasks including PR/PO creation and vendor arrangements.
• Quarantine defective or non-conforming parts to prevent misuse or mix-ups.
• Update Quality Management documents, procedures, and work instructions as needed.
• Support implementation and maintenance of ISO 9001 Quality Management System.

About you

• Minimum 3 years' experience as a quality technician within heavy machinery assembly or manufacturing industry
• Experience and skill in using measurement tools such as pressure gauges, dial gauges, 3D scanners, torque wrenches, etc.
• Background in quality or engineering functions, ideally with knowledge of automotive products or heavy machinery manufacturing processes.
• Experienced in conducting internal audits, including product audits and ISO 9001 Quality Management System audits.
• Quality management knowledge including containment actions and 8D analysis.
• Familiarity with basic quality tools: SPC, Control Plan, FMEA, MSA.
• Battery technology background considered an advantage
