Job summary

Private Advertiser in Malaysia is seeking a QA/QC Engineer to plan, implement and monitor quality procedures on construction projects in line with JKR standards and approved drawings.

You will conduct site inspections, prepare ITPs and method statements, coordinate with the project team, subcontractors and suppliers, and ensure proper QA/QC documentation and timely NCR closures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering / Construction Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years of QA/QC experience in building construction or JKR projects.
• Experience with JKR specs, drawings, contract documents and quality procedures.
• Knowledge of MS, BS, JKR specs and applicable regulations.
• Ability to interpret drawings and contract requirements.
• Strong communication and coordination skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan, implement and monitor QA/QC procedures per JKR specs and approved drawings
• Conduct site inspections to ensure works comply with drawings and standards
• Prepare and maintain ITPs, method statements, checklists and QA records
• Coordinate with the Project Manager, Site Engineer, consultants, subcontractors and suppliers on quality matters
• Arrange material inspections and testing for concrete, soil, reinforcement and roadworks
• Verify material approvals, test results and samples before use
• Identify and close NCRs, defects, and corrective actions
• Ensure all QA/QC activities are documented per project requirements
• Attend site inspections and meetings with JKR and authorities
• Monitor subcontractors workmanship and enforce timely corrective actions

Job description

This role involves planning, implementing and monitoring QA/QC procedures and quality requirements throughout construction projects in accordance with JKR specifications, contract requirements and approved drawings.

Key responsibilities

Plan, implement and monitor the QA/QC procedures and quality requirements throughout the construction project in accordance with JKR specifications, contract requirements and approved drawings

Conduct regular site inspections to ensure construction works comply with approved drawings, specifications, method statements and relevant standards

Prepare, review and maintain Inspection & Test Plans (ITP), Method Statements, checklists, inspection requests and quality records

Coordinate with the Project Manager, Site Engineer, consultants, subcontractors and suppliers on all quality-related matters

Arrange and coordinate material inspections, testing and laboratory tests, including concrete, soil, reinforcement, roadwork and other construction materials

Monitor and verify material approvals, material certificates, test results and samples prior to incorporation into the works

Identify, record and follow up on Non-Conformance Reports (NCR), defects and corrective/preventive actions until satisfactory closure

Ensure all inspection and testing activities are properly documented and comply with JKR requirements and project specifications

Attend site inspections and technical meetings with JKR, consultants and relevant authorities when required

Monitor subcontractors' workmanship and ensure corrective actions are implemented within the required timeframe

About you

Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering / Construction Engineering or equivalent

Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in QA/QC, preferably in building construction or JKR projects

Experience working with JKR specifications, drawings, contract documents and quality procedures is an advantage

Good knowledge of construction materials, testing procedures, inspection requirements and construction workmanship

Familiar with ITP, Method Statement, NCR, RFI/IR, material approval and QAQC documentation

Able to interpret and review engineering drawings, specifications and contract requirements

Good knowledge of relevant Malaysian Standards (MS), British Standards (BS), JKR specifications and applicable regulations

Strong communication and coordination skills with consultants, subcontractors and site teams

Able to work independently, solve site quality issues and work under pressure
